Ebook/digital book will replaces books, newspapers, novels at the future? |
| |
| Nowadays The trend of reading is using an ebook, perhaps since it's flexible or being a lifestyle. I have found ebook reader (i mean the real tool) in the market today though i think the price is still unfair for common peoples. So is it possible a digital book/ebook will be the lifestyle and replace any forms of printing media at the future? Let's share. Thanks. | | | | | |

| | I hope that there will be a balance between book and ebook rather than a replacement. Because there are pros and cons between the two. Example, the size of the read tool and its inflexibility. A book is small and light, and a magazine is foldable but the read tool is not. The read tool requires power as well. But the read tool can help to reduce the usage of paper and we can store many different books, magazine (for as much as the capacity allows). | | | | | | |

| | I don't think that the ebook will replace printed books. I often read short e-books on my computer. I tend to read them for information. Printed books are a completely different matter. If i'm reading a novel or short stories (for pleasure) then I want a real book. It's much easier on the eyes than reading from a screen. I can't imagine for one minute curling up at night with an ebook reader. It just doesn't appeal. | | | | | | |

| | Not at all, not all people have access on the internet so I think the print publishers will not go bankrupt.. And authors will still have their works sold.. | | | | | | |

| | Okay, ebooks are gaining in popularity. MAYBE they'll replace printed works someday, but I hope not. I HATE ebooks. With a passion. I can't stand reading on a screen! I like big thick hardcover books and I love having to carry them around! I like pages and turning them, and seeing them all fall behind my bookmark. Plus, who thought combining books and technology was such a good idea? Books shouldn't be able to freeze, crash, and fail to load like computers! No. I will not sway to the eBook trend. | | | | | | |

| | I dont think that the ebook will ever become a lifestyle. Because one if electricity is out so it the ebook, if you are going out, there are some places one will not carry their computers. The actual books are convinient. They are just that small book. They are easier to carry around, more flexible to read. And there are a lot of people like me who still prefer to read off a physical book than from the screen. | | | | | | |

| | I sincerely hope this does not in fact occur. While I occasionally read stories online I still prefer and always will to have a real paper book that I can curl up anywhere with and read to my hearts content. I love the feel and smell of the book and with older books knowing that they have been passed through time and many hands to finally reach mine. | | | | | | |

| | I certainly think it's possible but I don't think it's probable. I think printed books, newspapers, etc. are just more practical and always will be. Aside from the more practical reasons I think printed media will never be replaced by ebooks if for no other reason than nostalgia. I can see where, for some, ebooks could really catch on. It's a new technology, so to speak, and for those techno-savvy people the ebook would be the way to go. For others it would, for different reasons, be more convenient. But, when it comes to reading I believe most people will stick with traditional printed media. I know I will. I spend more time on the computer than I do in a book but when it comes to really concentrating on some serious reading I'd prefer a printed book. I think ebooks will catch on with a lot of people but I don't think it will ever become more than a permanent fad. I think printed media will always be around. | | | | | | |
