What kind of photo camera you have ? DSLR or Compact

Currently i have a Digital Camera its a Casio Exilim EX-Z2 series but Im really hoping to get myself a DSLR cause I really love to take pictures and capture every moment with my cam.

I have a Canon DSLR and a Canon IXUS. I usually use the DSLR because I want to be able to control the settings as much as possible, but if I want to bring a camera that doesn't take a lot of space and only want to take snap-shots of friends etc I take the IXUS as it fits comfortably in a pocket or small hand-bag. The DSLR has its own rucksack with room for several lenses so it's a quite space-demanding camera :-)

Same with that guy above me, I got a Canon EOS 500D aka Rebel t1i and a Canon IXUS 110IS aka Powershot SD960 IS (they got different names depending on where you live)

I usually bring my DSLR when space is not a problem but it can be a hassle to bring it too. Not to mention it is very attractive to those that have bad intentions. The ixus is really pocketable and is very easy to carry. I usually bring it to take picture of notes and during those times that I just can't bring my SLR.

I used to use a compact point-and-shoot camera, because I only used it for quick capture-the-moment photos. I was never big into photography, but I started a photo class a couple of days ago, and I don't think I can ever use anything other than a DSLR again. The amount of control you have over your picture is astounding. Of course compacts are still great little tools if you don't have a DSLR, but for anybody serious about photography, there is no choice but a DSLR. I currently have an Olympus because I was able to purchase the display model for less than $100 bucks, but I can't wait to save up and get a Canon D40 or D90.
