Hot peppers, another help to slim down

I´m always on the look out for additions to my cooking and eating that will prove healthier and will take part of those extra kilos I have since I quit smoking (Plese, don´t say I did well!). Now it´s hot peppers. I quote:" A small batch of studies has shown that a key ingredient in hot peppers -- capsaicin -- may help curb appetite and hinder the storage of fat." I´d eat hot peppers just because they are wonderful. But it´s a welcome idea to eat them bcause they are healthy. I love some not so hot green big tender peppers. They are tender in spring and I buy them, openthem and take out the hotter seeds and put cheese inside. I use a toothpick to sel it, cover it with batter and fry them in medium heat until the cheese is melted. Its wonderful as apetizer with a glass of chilean wine (am I promting my country´s wine?) I also put some hot peppers to casseroles. Do you use hot peppers? How do you prepare them? Happy posting!

i also love eating chili, hot chili. are they the same or similar with hot peppers? i know chili are tiny little thing, smaller than the common pepper i know. this makes me wonder. usually, we put hot red chili in sauce (vinegar and soy sauce or calamansi and soy sauce) we use to dip dried foods like grilled fish, fried meat.

They are all members of the same family of vegetables so I think that all of them work about the same.

Hey guys, maybe later we can organize a "hot and spicy" get-together so we can share each other's menu. i love learning other hot recipes from friends. though we can always browse the net so some more lists but it's a different thing having something from your friend's recipe.

I kind of have a love hate relation with chillies and hot peppers. As it is, we use a lot of green chillies, dried red chillies or chilli powder in most Indian dishes, it kind of spices us the mundane veggies LOL. However, eating raw green chillies is also a favourite with many, which I just cant do! Its too hot for me, but then again I love the chunky green chillies in the many Chinese dishes that are a regular favourite. We also make stuffed peppers and batter fried chillie fritters…both are equally yummy.

I rarely eat them or use them in cooking because I am not too keen on spicy food as it gives me bad heartburn. My husband likes hot peppers and he will be pleased to know they aid in weight loss because he’s trying to shed a few kilos. As for me I will have to increase my exercise and eat less chocolate. Wish I had some marvellous recipe to share but, alas, I don’t!

I´m an addict to chocolate so I have decided that I will never buy it. I only eat it when someone gives me chocolate as a present. Then I hide it from other guests and eat it by myself all at once. Until the next gift. I don´t feel guilty for that because it´s no so much.

Lol lol lol are you kidding? Will it slim down rally? We use geen chilly to make chutneys, add pieces of it in veg curries, red chilly powder is used in cooking mostly, they too come in many varities, big, small, tiny, some are hot, some not at all hot, but they render nice color only.. Thanks for sharing Enjoy life to fullest. Cheers. BE HAPPY ALWAYS. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. .

I don't really like hot stuff. I don't eat hot peppers but I do like banana peppers and bell peppers. I could eat banana peppers and bell peppers all the time but I just can't take the heat from the hot peppers. lol
