Help! Can my plumeria be saved?

Last night my husband slipped and fell and landed on my plumeria.

The stem snapped and I now have a 4 inch stalk coming up out of the pot and a 27 inch stalk with some leaves on top that broke off. I placed the long stalk in a separate pot with water to try to keep it alive.

Can the potted part with roots put out a new stalk that will grow leaves?

Can the stalk that broke off develop roots and become a separate plant?

If anyone out there has experience with plumeria, please advise.

It seems that your stalk can be regrown:

Thanks ever so much for the link, I did not even know there was a plumeria society. I got this plant a few years ago when it was only 12 - 15 inches long and it was approx 3 ft tall when my husband fell on it. While I am glad he wasn't injured; the damage to my plant was severe and I am glad it has a chance to recover.
