Hello!

I have a hard time finding a topic for my thesis so I'm gonna have to ask experts (graduates) because they had experienced this crucial point in college.

After graduating college,

1. What is your thesis all about? Can you give me tips on how to handle a thesis?

2. Did you do your thesis for your interest or for graduating?

I made my Thesis for my college and master's degrees. In order to be able to have a smooth completion of a thesis, you must have the proper resources on the topic you'd want to handle. You should have enough data and research should not be impossible.

It's good if you topic would be interesting for you but sadly, there are lot of 'interesting' topics which could leave you blanked out in the middle. If this is for the sake of you completing your degree, I'd suggest a topic that is more or less 'out there'. Something that wouldn't be difficult to research about.

What's your course? Who are you with most of the time? What age range is your target? Could you approach them easily? Does the library and the resource center of your University able to supply you with valuable data for your thesis?

These are the questions that are basically the questions that could help you assess if the chosen topic is doable or not.

As a tip, we were often told to look at the past thesis that were made. You could actually look for it (the published ones) in your University Resource Centers, then try to look for something that is 'interesting' for you. Then just continue on what that student had studied.

One sample would be, let's say that there was already a person who did "What career paths do people with B.S. in Biology (or something) usually choose?" - Well, if you know these people (or most of it you could find in Facebook and on a yearbook) then it would be easy for you to access them again. You could safely use that study to create a similar or a continued study.

It's actually easy and fun to create these Thesis. But, it's taxing, most especially if you're not really focused on it (like if you still have other subjects and projects to complete) worst is if the time allotted isn't enough.

So, my dear friend, try to see your resources first before you choose your topic. Most often, you cannot change it anymore once you've decided on it, it would be a waste of time to change your mind in the middle of everything. Remember to enjoy the grilling of the defense - tie loose ends and imagine the probably questions the panel would ask you.

Good luck!

I've already had a topics that is really interesting but I don't think that I can achieve more information about it (My latest question before this).

I've been thinking that if I would pick my interest then I'll be, as you said, stuck in the middle of the process. Actually we have thesis advisers that is guiding us but my adviser is too busy because she had many advisee. That is why I'm having a hard time picking or creating a topic for a thesis. And the fact that I don't know where to start, I don't know what ahould I do, I don't know the standards..

I envy my classmates because their adviser are helping them throughout the thesis and for creating a research plan that is interesting and they only have to research. But for me I have to research and discover.

Remember that Advisers need something to work with in order for them to give you the attention. You should show your adviser that you're really interested and really are focused.

Here's the thing, try to choose a topic and then create your framework and ask his/her advise if the path is right. Then on, show him/her your progress.

It's quite difficult really to give advise to someone who's interest is broad, you have got to make up your mind. Remember that advisers are there to advise, but the creation or decisions will always come from you.

What field are you in?

My course is BS Applied Physics Major in Instrumentation. I'm intereste in the topic but I just can't focus because of the bothersome on my head.

Can I ask you a question? What is thesis all about? Is it about the complexity of your research or is it about new discovery or both? I just couldn't find an image regarding thesis. Maybe it is dependent on how would I deliver it..

Hello again khulit, I answered your discussion about making a thesis few days ago. I graduated from university and BSBiology was my course then and had my thesis but its actually done experimentally. Now am doing thesis again with my second course, as a nursing student.
If you can tell what is your course maybe I can help you with some interesting subject you'll be interested to study with.
First and foremost, should always remember the word SMART, secondly you need to be very resourceful especially with your resources.
I know it's difficult at first but as you love and go on with your studies you'll see how you enjoy with it interestingly.

Happy mylotting.
