| | St.Petersburg is the russian cultural capital as we call it. So it'll definitly be a good choice. St.Petersburg is the beautifull european town with all of it's cultural aspects. You can find any kind of food. You can try our native kitchen as well. I don't that Russia is good for shopping. The prices aren't low. I can tell for sure that you won't have any language problems. English is widespread in Russia. | | | |

| | Twice in my life so far I have wished to visit Russia but it has not been possible. To go there I need to have a visa. When I was 18 years old I was working in Finland as a children's nanny. I wanted to visit St Petersburg but it was expensive and too challenging to get the visa. Accommodation there looked in the travel guide books to be very pricey. Two years ago I took my toddler son to the Baltic Countries. I looked into if it would be affordable or possible to go to Russia. St Petersburg is very close to Riga. It is an overnight train journey. In travel guide books I saw I would have been able to afford the accommodation. What stopped me going to Russia was the price of the visas, about three hundred pounds. I would have had to go to London for five days to wait for the visas, go for the express service or get a visa agent to get me my visas. Every option was to expensive and challenging. I have got visas for less money and it has been easier to go to other countries. In all I have been to fifty different countries. I wonder if I will ever get the chance to go to Russia. I dream of going on the train from Moscow to Beijing one day. Then I would need visas for Russia, Mongolia and China. | | | | | | |

| | In two or three years there won't be any visas between Russia and EU i hope. It is a good choice to make friends in russia. They will help you in your journey for sure. An invitation migth be a way to lower the price of visa. | | | |

| | I am delighted to hear that in two or three years time EU citizens will be able to visit Russia visa free. I would like to make some friends in Russia but the language is a barrier. It would be challenging to get an invitation to go to Russia. In 1990 I got a visa to go to Hungary. A year later us Brits could go visa free to many of the countries in Eastern Europe. | | | |

| | I don't think that language is a big problem. English is studied in most of the russians schools. So it's not so hard to make some friends in Russia. I can help you with invitation. I think the time has come for to open the borders) | | | |

| | I really don't know a lot about Russia. That is the reason I wanna go there. If I were to study Russia, I want a first hand experience. Though I have to save for it because a travel to Russia from our country is quite expensive. | | | | | | |
