I fell a sleep when I came home from work today. I think I sleept for a couple of hours. When I woke up I thought it was morning and that I had oversleept as I have to be at work at seven in the morning. Looking on the time, I noticed it was still only eveningtime. Anyway, this happen to me often. How about YOU? Do you fall a sleep and wake up thinking oh no, I am late for work?

It has happened to me that I have fallen asleep on the couch and woke up thinking it was morning, but since I am self employed I don't panic or anything, thinking, oh no, I'm late, because anytime I go to work isn't late, unless of course if it's in the middle of the day. For me the best sleeps I get are usually on the couch napping. I love to nap, it feels so good, that I try to nap every day after work and since I get home early, around 2 or 3 in the afternoon, my nap doesn't interfer with my night sleeping. When I was working for someone else than, yes it has happened that I have woken up after a nap and I paniced that I was going to be late for work and then laughed at myself afterwards.

No, I dont get a chance to sleep after my work, I only get to sleep at night, so it is usually true that I am late for work because its morning already and I woke up late

Hi Anetteh, Yes it has happened to me a few times. I work 2nd shift and I also get up pretty early in the morning. Sometimes (not often) I just get so so tired that I lay down and take a nap before work. If I'm that tired then I fall into a deep sleep. I feel like I've slept for hours and hours and I'll suddenly jump up and feel like I've slept so long that I am way late for work. What a relief when it finally registers in my little brain what time it is.

I notice that it happens to me after we change the clocks. Now it is lighter out earlier in the morning, so sometimes I'll wake up and realize the sun is out and I think it's later than it actually is. It usually only happens once or twice a year though and I think it's really just my body getting use to the time change. I never wake up late, luckily, so I don't worry about it too much.

I actually tried that already but the difference is that I'm usually like that thinking I might be late for my exam or for my first period class. When I reviewed for my exam I never realized that I was already asleep and I suddenly woke up because of having a bad dream that I was late and I wasn't able to take the exam. Just like that, then I woke up I realizing that it's all a dream and I still have time to review and attend my class or exam. It usually happens to me when I'm really worried. I guess it's also your reason for waking up thinking of the negative possibilities.

I often experience this. I set my alarm clock 2 hours before work and that should give me enough time to prepare. But more often than not, I end up taking a few more minutes of sleep that reaches up to an hour. I am such a sleepy head and I always need to have 8 hours of sleep or else, I'd be cranky at work or during the day. Waking up late is a bad habit of mine I'm trying to get rid of cause it always end up with me being late for work.

This doesn't usually happen to me. My body clock is mess up so no matter what I always wake up early. The only reason I will be late is when I get out of my bed too late :D

I rarely experience it but I have my shares of it as well. This usually happens when I work on overtime and then sleep longer than usual to make up for lost time - so long that when I wake up, I have the sudden feeling that I'm late for work, only to realize that it's still not working time :).
