Christian Songs ain't that Bad :D

and how i wish i could determine that, I AGREE so we should be more observant with the songs. well, got nothing against the song in the church you go to. hope you wouldn't mind sharing that song with me here? thanks

Yeah, i always remember the old versions, those where really the uplifting ones. i kinda hope the church make laws that prevent the our father song tune from being changed, it's too much, people are getting lazy to sing, but i sing it, even if it's not familair with it. i hate it when am not on tune so i just let them sing then i follow

Hi to both of you, how often does your parish change the tune? Do they do it every Sunday? Well in that case, that concern had to be raised.

In my case, if I skip the regular masses at my usual parish for long, the next time I appear in that Church, some tunes have been changed. But that's like after months of not being there.

Okay, I do jump from one church to another in search of a better liturgy that's why it is expected that I encounter different songs and different tunes.

Also, do understand that there are thousands of composers out there who give their different musical scores for those parts that you mentioned. I personally would like to hear new ones as the old and traditional versions can also get boring. HOwever, I do realize that it messes up with the participation of the majority because the choir alone knows the tunes.

not necessarily lazy but some times i'd rather do the practical application as a Roman Catholic, rather than go to church every sunday, sing, listen to god's gospel and does not do it. i know some people who are active in the church and yet they severely criticized some one who they think is a leach in life.

I know that God's know that am pissed with songs that are changed tune, but he knows too am doing hard doing good and not just visit church every sunday. I'd probably start praying with out the songs...that's a lot better i guess.

I never said you were lazy! And you are right about "practical application", since in the book of James, it is said there, "faith without works is dead".

But remember, that the Holy Mass, is our Christian obligation as Catholics. It is the basis and foundation of our faith.

For people who go to mass everyday and yet they commit the same faults everyday, that faith is dead.

For those who live out the gospel but do not even spare 1 hour of their week for a Christian obligation, that is also one form of a dead faith.

My point is, faith and works had to come together.

God does not force us to go to mass. So far I have never heard of anyone who was struck by a lightning bolt for planning on not going. But that is the essence of the Mass, it is supposed to be a sacrifice. Just one hour of our week would not really hurt, would it?

If only Catholics are well informed and educated as to the very meaning of every part of the mass, we will understand. The problem sometimes is that the church lacks such, or maybe there is such but we were just not so informed again. Sigh.

Yes I am a Roman Catholic. they did change it again, some how the uplifting part isn't there any more so i tend to listen to other versions. inever knew why? probably they should make a survey whether the song should be changed or the old one remains the same.

I was raised as one, until I decided to walk on my own at about 16, and stopped going to the church for over 20 years. Started again a few years ago, and stopped again. lol. Maybe I'll pay a visit one day. The monastery I used to go to was very nice, and I loved talking to the nuns. Once I said that I believe only in the Father, and instead of bashing me like some would, she told me to come often to study. I appreciate that.:)

Maybe they wanted to give something fresh, not knowing it would be bad for the people. And you're right they should ask the people about changing something so familiar to everyone. And here, they also changed the rhythm of the praises to the Father, too, the parts I love the most. I hated it when it happened.

Did you like it? i just can't stop listening to this song, i swear i became addicted to it, in positive way. some how it has uplift me a little bit in being more responsible christian. well, i've seen a lot of people sleeping during the mass, but i rarely do it, most specially if the midnight mass is around 3 to 4 am
