I don't think there is and i don't think it would be needed , i won't want my name or contact appear in a directory for people to spam .

I have friends who decide it is cheaper to have a cell than a regular phone. Then I can't call them. When we run into each other, I might think to ask them or they might think to give it to me, but often not. Then they ask me why I didn't call them when such and such happened, it's very frustrating. I wouldn't spam anyone, I don't even know how and I don't want to know how.
At any rate, I had to call to be put on a do not call list for cell phones, so I would think there is either a directory or a random number generator.

I was thinking of this very same thing several times. I don't think there is. Haven't heard anything about them if there is. Maybe in certain communities and organizations and companies and such they do have a directory of their employees that have cells.

i was told that if you do business with one company, anyone they put you on a list that they sell to other companies, that is how your name and number spread from one company or another. They said on their small print that they won't do it but most don't follow that rule. If there is money in it for them they will do it. You are right I go through the same thing, some don't keep the same cell phone and alwaays changing, and hard to keep up with those, so unless they give you the number, you can't get it. There is reverse lookup that will tell you where the number originates from but not who it is listed to, just cell in whatever place the provider is. Not heard of a directory for cells.

Relating to B.C., Canada...NO, there is not a cell-phone directory...for which I am THANKFUL! The very last things that I would need, or want, would be soliticitation phone calls on my cell! When I got mine, some 5 years ago, this August...I do remember the service provider (in that fine print, that NO-ONE likes to read), their part of the Contract was that they would NOT release this info. AND that is a good thing, because we pay for incoming...as well as out-going calls...at least on my contract! Course, my cell phone is NOT a social network for me...very few people have the number...but I also have a land-line, too! Living where I do, we have little options for "providers", so ONE provider is my ISP, land-line and cell....and we do not have the option of Cable/Satellite, yet!
Have been very inactive, here, lately...am having humungous computer issues, replaced the hard drive, on this computer...only 2 1/2 yrs. old...and now this one is failing. Drats....it is slower than dial-up, so one loses interest very fast.
Take care...and have a great weekend, this is a holiday weekend for us, so already this small Island is overwhelmed with tourists. Cheers.

I had to call to be placed on a do not call list or businesses would be calling me right and left. So either they are using a random dial generator and someone has told them all the first 3 digits for the cell phones or something. Thanks and take care.

Yes, I called that number. I still seem to be getting some cell phone calls.
