What is Rosetta Stone? |
| |
| I have downloaded that program recently, and I found that it is language learning program. But I want to ask you myLotters that has anyone tried it? Does it help much to learn any foreign language? Anyone here who's familiar with Rosetta Stone? Using that program for about 2 days I think it would just help me to learn saying "Hi" and "Hello" in particular foreign language. Did you learn any language from that program? Does it make us fluent in particular language? Help Needed myLotters !! | | | | | |

| | I personally haven't used it, but from people who have and from research I've done on the program, I've found that it is probably one of the best if not the best language learning programs that are out there if you actually use it every day and use it correctly. I've heard nothing, but good things about it. I hope this was helpful to you. | | | | | | |

| | The Rosetta stone that was discovered in Egypt, in 1799,It had three piece of writing on it, that all the said same thing, but in three different languages. one was in ancient Egyptian writing called demotic , one was in another Ancient Egyptian writing called Hieroglyphics , and one was written in ancient Greek. This stone greatly helped historians who were trying to find out more about Ancient Egypt . It discovery led to the translation of ancient Egyptian writing. Historians could read Greek Demotic and they could translate the words into the Hieroglyhpics, and they then knew how to read ancient words that people could not read for so many years .. the stone is named after city where it was found, Rosetta. Today that city called Rashid , The stone is now in British museum in London. augustine | | | | | | |

| | Augustine, it would be better if you could read the discussion properly. I am not talking about that Stone, have you read description there? Or just read the headline? I am talking about the language learning program named Rosetta stone, I am not talking about that stone discovered at Egypt. It seems that you have searched it on a Google, without reading description and just done copy and paste. This won't help you to earn more money, Please read carefully before responding to any discussion. Please........ | | | |

| | Bit harsh there keval, because I would have answered in the same way, the only rosetta stone I know is the one Augustinev mentioned, your question is 'what is rosetta stoner?' how did she read that wrong? 'This won't help you to earn more money,' was a bit out of order! | | | |

| | My dear, sorry if anything harsh with my words, but I would like to tell you that , we don't have read only the headline. If you are responding to a discussion then you must read the description as well, if you are responding to the discussion just by reading the headline then you are just wasting your time. I think before responding or commenting to any discussion at-least we must read the description that what's exactly it's about. And I have written that sentence regarding money, because many people just respond to the discussion for making money, they don't care about reading it. I think I didn't anything wrong, and if I have, then please forgive me. | | | |

| | Thanks for Marissa, thanks favoring me. You're right, the response they have given had nothing to do with the discussion, if they just eyed on the description they might got aware that what is the discussion about. | | | |

| | Hi Keval32, I have the Rosetta Stone for UK English. Purchased it for training purpose. I think it is good if you want to learn the correct pronunciations. I haven't tried the other language. You said you downloaded it? I had to purchase it and it was not cheap. I think I paid £175 for it, if I'm not mistaken. It could be slightly less or more. I bought it a few years ago. | | | | | | |

| | Hey, well sorry to say that I have downloaded it illegally, you paid 175 for that? That's good. Having legal copy is better then illegal one. Ya it's good for correct pronunciations. | | | |

| | I never downloaded the program online since I dont think at the time it was available for my area. I actually ordered a free disc with the information / lessons on them. You could pick from a list of languages and they would mail out the program. Ive never actually had time to go through it all yet. So I havent learnt the language but Im planning on it. | | | | | | |

| | i have the one for learning korean. i tried several of the exercises; i think if you use it consistently then it would help. i did not have the patience to do so and besides i think korean is such a hard language to learn. probably the best way to learn it is to find someone to talk to. | | | | | | |

| | I have a copy of the program and Japanese and French language discs. However, the program will not make you fluent with other language if you're not using it. that's why English is still the only language I know apart from my native tongue which Filipino. | | | | | | |

| | I think if I am using it though I won't get that fluency in any language, I don't have experience yet, but I think learning language must be started with alphabets. What do you think abt it? | | | |

| | Rosetta Stone also teaches you the alphabet. In my Japanese disc, Hiragana and Katakana were also tackled in some lessons. Even grammar. Though, Kanji is another story. | | | |

| | Hello Keval, I actually dont know the Rosetta Stone until my boyfriend told me about it. My boyfriend is a foreigner and he is living and studying here in our country. He tried to bought a cd of rosetta stone and he tried to used it in his daily conversation. It went pretty good because he can now speak our language. Not so perfect but he manage to understand our language. Sometimes he have hard time to pronounce it but he manage to be understood by the person he is talking. I guess that Rosetta Stone helps him to improve his speaking skills. | | | | | | |
keval32 (352)

| | Of course, Rosetta stone helps to make speaking any language fast, but we can't speak it fluently with it. We just know the "Hi", "Hello" kind of words with that language. | | | |
