Very often when I go out i meet many people I know, specially my ex-students. I stop to talk to them or salute them. My daughter do not like me talking to anyone I meet on my way. But I cannot do otherwise as these people have great respect for me....

If these are people you know, it would be very rude to just pass by and not at least acknowledge them. Is it possible your daughter is jealous and thinks talking to these people is taking your attention away from her? Perhaps she is jealous of the fact that you know so many people and she knows so few?

Ya you are right. She is indeed jealous as most of the people I meet are girls that is my ex-students or present students. She despise all of them.

Your daughter sounds like she needs couseling. If she does not get it; I am afraid that she will be very miserable and will try to make other people miserable. I hope she gets some help.

Hi Balu I just went to your website and learnt a lot from agriculture. Although I have never done agriculture it was a pleasure to learn about Jatropha. My grandparents were in plantation. Bye have a nice time with your project.

I don't talk to people who I don't know. I will always talk to people who I know if I have the time, just as I would expect them to make the time to talk to me. I would look a bit silly talking to people I don't know very well. It would surely be a little rude to ignore people that you knew though. Even if you just say hi, or smiled at them. I cannot stand the type of people who will put their heads down when they're walking past you just because they don't want to say hello to you.

I support you but thats the problem with teenaged youngsters. They are only your students or colleagues but your daughter is probably in her teen age hence this response. You are obviously a teacher or a professor who has the admiration of your students and they greet you.You are feeling awkward because you are unable to adequately respond to their greeting. If you can explain this to your daughter when you have her attention i'm sure she'll understand. But this requires tact which you have in abundance being a teacher.Just wait for the moment when she is amenable to your suggestion and talk it out with her.

Ya I am an educator. My daughter just hates the idea that my students greet me or like me. She is too jealous. I tried to explain her without success. I hope when she grows older she may accept the situation.
