My feet hurt, any recipes for a good soak?

I've noticed as I get older, even the small bones on the side of my feet hurt when I've been on them for hours at a time. I work retail so I have to be on my feet a lot. Some days they don't seem to bother me at all and then all of a sudden, I can hardly hobble once I've been sitting for a while and try to stand up. I believe in investing in our shoes, I wish I had taken better care of my feet in my youth, not so much going barefoot and flopping around in flip-flops. I'm 52 and even as I type this I can feel them down there just aching away. I could barely make it from my car to the house yesterday evening when I got home. I laid a back-massager against the head-board of my bed last night and rested my feet against it; felt wonderful. I told my husband I wanted one of those bubbly foot tub things for my birthday. I wonder though if there are any good recipes for a soak, like mineral oil and warm water, seems like the oil would just float on top of the water though and make my ankles nice and oily. Anyone have advice or recipes on this subject.

Epsom salt and warm water is a great rememdy. You probably would also want your doctor to know what is going on as well.

Well Miss SusanLee we get that from our Granny, seems like she could have passed on something not quite so painful. I soak mine in HOT water and epsom salt in a bubbly massager then rub them really good with foot cream. You can make a really good one out of nivea oil and crisco, this one is good because oddly enough it isn't greasy and does wonders for your skin.

*I can recommend Peppermint oil, it's fantastic, I use it on my own feet and I made up a spray for my Mum to use. It's really cooling and soothing. The way you can put the oil into the water, is by adding the oil to a small amount of carrier, such as bubble bath, or even milk. *Please note, that as a qualified aromatherapist, I have to give you these instructions/warnings: Keep all oils away from heat, animals and children. Keep oils away from eyes, if oil does get into the eyes, rinse with full-fat milk. Contact your health provider, if you are on any medication, before using this remedy. I hope this helps. :)

I also been having problem like you dear. Due to high heeled shoes, and after a long day,i had terrible pain on my feet. What i did is to soak my feet up to knee deep of hot water with salt for at least 15 minutes or,till the water is still hot enough. Yes hot water, depends on your tolerance. Then,i massage my feet with oil also my legs, upward movement. Then, wrap with plastic (any ordinary thin plastic) then,to avoid loosing,i wear socks. And then, lay on bed with legs up for about 15 minutes before going to sleep. This really helps me a lot,i hope it will work for you too dear
