I think that this is a 'conspiracy theory'. There is certainly something that has been proposed as a 'North American Currency Unit' (involving and incorporating the currencies of Canada, the USA and Mexico and following the model of the 'Euro') but none of the governments involved have expressed any real interest in this. Wikipedia's article is probably quite accurate and equinamical: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_currency_union I cannot see any reason why any geographical entity would want to establish their own monetary unit except for 'local' and 'boundary' reasons. It would make sense, for example, if Canadian and Mexican nationals could expect a fixed exchange rate between the USD, CAD and Mexican Peso (the same could apply to any mix of currencies you cared to mention ... what about the Philippino peso, for example?) I think there is no reason to be afraid of the 'Amero' - mostly because it's not a reality but also because, if it existed, it would tend to stabilise currencies around the world.

I don't believe in conspiracy theory s usually but the signs are out there that point to this being real and can be found without looking. The dollar is falling and cant compete with the euro or the British pound. The dollar is being purposely devalued the gov is printing more money than we can cover our economy cant support the third world economy of mexico so the gov has to weaken it. another clear sign is the border dispute we are having and the gov is doing nothing but putting up smoke screens, illegals are invading our country and their punishment is jobs, free health care and amnesty.
