Now since it getting hot and we had lots of rain the mosquitos are out.
How would you keep them from my room or getting into the house? with natural products.
If you are outdoors what kinds bug screen would you wear on your skin?
Thanks and have a Great day

I'd place a mosquito net over the window if possible or use that lamp that fries them at night with electricity. I used many skin products but none worked 100%. One time a bee was actually attracted to the smell so i had a new problem
. I just try to keep away from forests and wet areas because there's more bugs there.

There are electronic products which produce a sound which is unpleasant to mosquitoes but cannot be heard by humans. They either plug into the wall socket or they may be battery operated.
Mosquitoes and other biting insects do not like the smell of yeast products and it is said that just a slice of toast spread with Marmite eaten for breakfast will keep mosquitoes at bay for the whole day. If Marmite is not available in your country, you can probably buy Yeast Tablets (which contain many of the B vitamins and so are good for you). One or two of these a day should help to keep the mozzies at bay. The odour of yeast is completely undetectable by humans, by the way, but it puts off the insects.

Hello owlwings,
I did not know about yeast products. I need to try this when I go for my walks on the weekend. I have a camping trip coming up at the end of June. I just so itchy when they get me and we will sleeping out doors. Yes, I heard about those buzz zappers too. Actually some brands are quite noisy when bug hits them and they die.
What is Marmite? I never heard of this before. I will pick up the yeast tablets.
Thanks for the replay and have a great day

Ah, yes! In the US you wouldn't know about Marmite
It's similar to Vegemite - a very salty, brown paste (used very sparingly as a spread on bread and toast and can also be used as a hot drink or a stock). It CAN be found in the States - as an import from the UK - but I think that the FDA are a bit wary of hydrolysed yeast products!

http://evryaustralian.stores.yahoo.net/marmite250gm.html (Yes, the Aussies love it, too)
Depending on where you are in the US, you might find it in the 'International' aisle of some stores, especially the more 'specialist' kind of store (like Trader Joe's in CA).

I use Bert's Bees all natural Herbal Insect Repllent. It works so well. And Burt's Bees is a company that makes all natural products. I wanted something that would work, but wouldn't be sticky. Not only is it not sticky, it smells just fine. There isn't a weird odor that says, hey I'm wearing bug spray! I highly recommend it. You can buy it a lot of places. Like Walgreen, Walmart...

I would use a squirt bottle with pure apple cider vinegar in it, and spray it everywhere. It works for everything, including fleas.

The best way to avoid from having mosquitoes inside your room, your house or outside your house is simply CLEANLINESS. Make sure everything is clean, don't leave any stagnant waters on containers, get the best commercialized spray exclusively for mosquitoes, also you must have this screen for windows and for any open surfaces without disallowing fresh air.
