Bankruptcy! How does one go forth in life after a bankruptcy??

If you have read any one of my previous posts; this was coming. Alongside the many items on my plate, today I have; not liking the decision very much, but find no absolute option.
I have dreaded this moment my entire life, being penny pound and penny wise. However, circumstances beyond my control and wishes have forced me to have to consider debt reconciliation or something. Outside of knowing that people do this and function in the future, I am completely oblivious about what it entails. I have a home facing foreclosure, I have debts; ie medical, college expenses and College loans. Therefore, I believe everything outside of the college loans are probable forgiven. It pains me a great deal, that I have worked so hard in my life to obtain all I have responsibly and yet am faced now with this situation. I have never frivolously spent; I have been a very conscious person. I had to, as a single parent with not much of family support.
I am now officially getting foreclosed on my home and the creditors are blowing my cell phone to bits. So I must face the fact that foreclosure is my only option. Even though it will not comfort or alleviate me in anyway. As no matter what the huge college loans will linger on for many years to come. I believe this process will complete tear me apart as I have always valued my hard work and credit. When things got bad, I could always rely on my credit to fall on. Now it will be where I just won't have anything to fall on. As when you have no income, how can you rebuild your credit. I suppose it isn't easy either way, but have to believe that when you do have an income at least you are given a chance.
I was referred to a supposed good attorney, although I have lost faith when it comes to entrusting anyone. I humbly turn to you all, as I am completely oblivious of what the process involves. Not to mention not in the right state of mind and scared out of my witts. Can anyone offer any advise about do's and don't with regards to bankruptcy? Can anyone tell me what they should have done versus what they should have not done? Can anyone tell me what to be causious about when starting my process?

It is possible to start all over again I did it. I was the victim twice of people (friends) I tried to help out. They left me behind with the mess and I had to sell my house too. I had to consume my saving money plus the money I saved for my kids. I worked for that 60-80 hours a week. It's not easy but possible.
Find someone who can assist you with your bankrupt or better will do most of the job for you. So you won't have all the stress of it and it won't tear you apart.
That person can help you to get the bills payed, payed in terms or see if it's possible not to pay at all because of your situation.
Live by the day. It will be a time of surviving but that will be over soon enough.
Find people with whom you can talk about this, you are not the only one.
Don't feel ashamed to ask for help. I found out strangers gave it to me while my family let me down.
I would advice you to go look for help now since it already gives you sleepless night and there is no need to deal with this alone. I wish you a lot of strengh.

Well my friend I know from getting to know you since this discussion was started there have been a lot of challenges and things come your way that you have had to deal with, and are still dealing with but overall I think this situation will also make you a stronger wiser person, and Good things will happen from here. It was not an easy thing to endure, and I am sure it has made you wonder. But just remember God is in control and there are many people here who care.

I have never had to face bankrupcy, but I have always imagined it to be a 'New Start'
All your debts have been wiped out by the courts and you can begin again. Isn't that the case?
I hope all this is well and truly behind you now and your life is much better. Free from stress, etc...... :)
