I know the Nissan Leaf runs on nothing but electricity and you plug it in for recharge when needed. I'm not sure of the miles it gets per charge. I do know the GM Volt gets more miles on it than the Leaf. The thing about the GM Volt thats different is once it runs out of electricity than its gas engine kicks in and recharges the battery. This is what makes the Volt last longer on the road. I would choose the Volt based on its design because of the possibility of the Leaf running out of electricity while driving. The Leaf however is more affordable. I think it costs about $25,000 while the Volt I've heard is going to cost around $40,000(too much). I would get the Leaf due to it being more affordable when if came right down to it if I could, but I have to stick with the gasoline cars until the price drops some more. You know GM did have an electric car getting ready to be put on the market years ago than the plan was scrapped even when they had many buyers in line who had reserved to buy their then electric car. This was before the green movement had taken on so much momentum. I guess the greedy oil companies got in the way.

Hello the cost is too high for a middle class man like me, second i have heard that the aftersales service is poor, cost of original battery for replacement is high too..
I am from India and i am satisfied with my Maruti van, i have added LPG kit to it, so we run on petrol and LPG both, mileage is good..
Thanks for sharing.
Welcome always.
Cheers.
