On paper it was an experienced English team against an inexperienced but young German team. After the match, where the Germans exposed the English defense of lacking for pace and thrashed them 4-1, it seems that Germans have taught the English a lesson. What is more heartening is the fact that all the stars are home grown players from academies in Germany!! With all this hype around EPL, the point is that the English players coming out these academies are simply not good enough!!
What do you say?
Cheers!
Ram

England show a porr football during all World Cup, really a desapointment. I ddidn't saw Rooney playing well one single game, i agreaa when you say that Germany teach them a lesson, but i don't like the Germany team with players from all around the World, don't know if they got two nationality or if they just get the Germany nationality to play the World Cup, but i think it is time to stop it. There are two brothers playing each one in a tea.
Anyway Germany is playing a nice football and i get the hardiest path to the final from all teams that passed from first stage.

Match between Germany and England was amazing! The Germans beat the British. The victory was deserved them! Repealed second goal might stop the momentum of the British. Yet Germany has been at least two classes above his oponent.

I don't generally go for football but when it comes to the World Cup I do like to tune in and watch England play. I thought that England's game against Germany was an absolute disgrace! The England team played poorly and they were totally outclassed by the Germans!
When I was watching the Germans I play I noticed how well they were passing the ball to each other and with such precision too! The England defense was appalling and the Germans always seemed to get the ball pass defense and ultimately they kept on scoring! As things stand now I really don't thing that the England team have any credibility, I think they have lost that now.
The Germans deserved to win, they played a fantastic game! I don't think the premiership players in the England team deserve the kind of salaries they are getting! Their salaries should be halved at the very least. Without doubt they are going to facing a lot of criticism now as result of this farce! Andrew

Yes, the german passing and running off the ball was really top class. English players seemed to be laboring compared with the german players, which begs a question on their fitness!!
Nothing could have said the story more than Barry laboring behind Ozil for the fourth goal!!
Cheers!

Hello, Ram. It's not often that I'll say I'm ashamed to be English, but I certainly am tonight. It's not a case of being taught a lesson by the Germans, it's more a question of not having the pride in the country and the fire in the belly. We were a disgrace, and we need to learn from it, not make excuses. The fans - who ultimately line the pockets of these overpaid underachievers - deserve much better.

England has the best league, but NOT the team. I think England players are too exhausted with strong competition in EPL, so they had no time to concentrate on World Cup, so many injuries whatsoever.I can`t imagine why players like Rooney, Terry, considered as one of the world`s best, seemed to be toothless against Germany

I think the English league has been exposed. Looking at the bench that Capello had for the match, there seemed no one who could come on and change the match!! Compare it with the bench of Germany, Argentina, Brazil and even Holland and you know that young players have not been coming through for England!!
Cheers!

England have had a poor world cup and were lucky to get through to the knock out stage. I would not say that the players are not good enough as some of them have played in and won some major trophies such as the European champions league. I think that Rooney was probably Englands worst player of the tournament which did not help. Why was Gerrard played on the left when he is clearly more effective and happier playing in the centre of mid field.
I think that the manager will probably be sacked now as he picked the team and chose the way that they played. How can he bring Emile Heskey on when we need goals. I think that it is time to dust off my football boots.

Yes, but that is at the club level. For the country, England has won nothing for a long time and did not even qualify for the last Euros!!
Capello's position is now quite untenable. Need to see what happens, whether he steps down or whether he waits for FA to sack him. If so, then he has a windfall coming his way.
Cheers!
Ram
