I don't know why but, whenever I try to post anything in this category I get nowhere!
Oh well!
Anyway, what I want to know is; have you got any unusual gardening tools that help you out in your everyday tasks that you cannot live without?
I have an amazing trowel and fork that were very cheap but have these splendid, green spongey grips that make life easier. I don't have a disability but for someone who has trouble gripping they would be ideal.
I also possess a bright pink watering can. I would love to share a pic of it but the site refuses to let me upload it.

I have made myself some gardening tools, besides the ones that can be bought. Those are special tools for my cacti. I have an old knife, a coffee spoon and a small paint brush. The knife and spoon help me transplant them while staying away from their thorns. The brush ( the kind that children use for watercolor) is to clean them.

Well, I hope this discusssion stays put this time.
I bought a little tool from QVC called, Grandpa's Little Weeder and I find it really helpful for getting up the tougher weeds. It's like a smalle fork-like thing on the end that you push into the ground either side of the weed, you then pull back on the handle and it closes around the root at the same time as pulling it our of the ground. Really great for dandilions that we seem to have loads of this year for some reason.

Don't some of the tools have some strange names! I like the name of your tool though, it's got a nice ring to it lol. It works too by the sounds of it which is an added advantage! I've noticed a large weed in the yard and it won't be staying there for long because it's annoying me looking at it!

, mine are only green or galvanised. I have seen some really gorgeous coloured watering cans in a gardening centre, while we were on holiday, but sadly too expensive. i will have to save some pennies or do lots of posting on mylot!

Thanks for your response! Well, my pink watering can was only £3.99 from Wilkinson's. It's made of steel too. How I wish I could download a pic of it but I may resort to finding an online photo instead as those seem to be accepted on MyLot, from me at least.
Wow, fancy that tool lasting all this time. Amazing!
The internet version of my pink watering can doesn't do my own photo justice but you get the idea. Such a shame I cannot download mine.

Too bad that you were not able to post the picture.
I am also fond of gardening but this time I couldn't be in the garden for I am always busy with my work. ............

If you look in the box above you will see a pic of a watering-can that is identical to mine...the colour is a bit darker than my can though, which is a shame because my photo looks great!

Hiya Winky! I once went out with a guy who came to live with me at Mum's (it was a disaster because they didn't get on) and ultimately, I started detesting him as well. He had a small collection of cacti and he was most upset to find that one of the cats had knocked off his prize cactus (only a tiny thing) off the windowsill. He managed to get it back in its pot but he wouldn't stop going on about it!
I'm ashamed to say me and Mum thought it was hilarious!

Many thanks for your response.
Yes, I think my watering can is designed to help children "get into" gardening due to its vibrant colour. There were loads to choose from including blue for the boys...but I just HAD to have the pink one! Does the job too as my garden isn't that large. Saves on water as well.
