I figured I'd come here and ask for some ideas. My good friend is turning 40 in less than a week, and unfortunately, NONE of us have any money. She's the 'champagne taste on a beer budget'-type of gal, and now she's bringing me (and God knows who else down) with her "poor me" attitude! And now it's worse because the guy she wants to be with has chosen to spend that weekend with his daughters (it's Labor Day weekend here in the USA and in our area, kids are heading back to school in about a week and a half). I need fun, inexpensive ideas for her party and I'm at a loss! Help please!

hi scorpiobabes why not have a luau party for the ending of summer and have each guest bring their favorite luau type food so it will not
cost a mint and have someone with cameras snap pictures of the guests
and the birthday friend.also consult ahead of time with guests and have a pretty basket with inexpensive Hawaiian style gifts, even little cans of Pineapple anything simple and small but a gift from all. If some of your friends can do some Hawaiian dances for entertainment and get a cd player with lovely Hawaiian music. We just had that kind of a party here and they had hired these three Hawaiian and Bora Bora girls for entertainment. The girls did this for free to entertain us retirees. We really did have a lot of fun too. just an idea.
