Windy rainy days.

Today is one of those days. Already I have gone back to bed with a coffee after feeding all the animals. I watched a movie on my little DVD player and fell asleep again. It's just a miserable day and as it's Saturday, I'm thinking of curling up with a good book or wrapping myself in a blanket and doing my crochet while I watch another movie on TV. Decision, decisions. If II had to go somewhere today that would be ok but I used to hate travelling to work on public transport on days like this. It was uncomfortable and miserable to be at work with wet clothes and shoes. What do you love to do during windy wet Spring weather? What is it about these types of days you don't like?

I generally sit here at my computer, summer, winter, spring, fall - whatever...

Same here my friend but I'm making a concerted effort to get up off my derrière more often. If I don't, I can't last well into the night as my knees and legs start to ache and become restless. I'll just go to the window and watch the rain falling for 5.

Hi Hun, I really hate it when the weather is gloomy, rainy, windy, and yucky out. It would be a perfect day for crocheting, reading, watching a movie, etc. You won't catch me going out on days like those unless I absolutely have to! My 4 year old and I find some pretty creative things to do when it's yucky out and we're bored! Hope you have a nice weekend!

It can be an exciting day indoors when you have little kiddos. I bet Angelina loves to do creative things with her Mommy. I remember my kids used to love it when I baked and let them help with the mixing...lol. They were messy and fun times. I have some classical music on and I'm typing away and enjoying a coffee. Everything is just right!

I hate when the weather is gloomy too I also feel tired icky and gloomy when the sun isn't shining I try to read or play games with my daughter or find a family movie that we can watch on those days to keep occupied.

Ahhhh yes MsTickle Angelina LOVES to bake with her mommy! When it's cool and rainy then I do take advantage of it because it helps heat the house too! Family movies are also great time passers too Blue, so is reading them stories or playing a game like Candy Land! Candy Land is Angelina's favourite board game!

I guess you get that where you live Lakota... We have a hot bore bath where we can swim all year round...the pool is relatively little though and quite crowded with tourists these days.

Thank goodness for TV and DVDs. I remember when my kiddos were little and at home during miserable weather we would all be very bored...I'm talking 35 years ago. We mostly lived in apartments too so they rarely got to play outside even in the nicest weather.

This may sound bad, but yucky days are sometimes a good thing because then you can put the kids in front of the tv with a good children's movie, and get some "Mummy ME Time!" For me the tv and computer are in the same room so it's not like she's on the other end of the house or anything!

I did not receive an alert for this lovely...sorry not to get back to you. I don't mind being wet, wet and cold is something I do only from necessity. It makes going back inside to a warm fire and a hot cuppa rather delightful.

Hi. MsTickle. I like to stay indoors when it is raining. I like to read and catch up on any things that I need to do at home. I also like to talk on the telephone to my friends and relatives. I also love to read to my kids and play games with them. I don't like rainy weather because it is very hard for me to find an activity that I can do without being outside. It makes cold and Flu come quicker. Everyone in my household has a chance of getting sick then.

It's good to see you keeping busy but I guess you don't have much choice as a Mum. I find the rain cleans everything and it's only when you sit in a draught or stay in wet clothes or don't keep warm that you get sick. We are coming into summer now and today is a beautiful day (it's my birthday as well)

It sounds like a plan to me. We are in the last days of summer here. Its been a hot humid summer too. I complained about the hot sticky weather. Now its cool almost cold and gee whiz, winter is coming. Yuck. Cold wet weather, don't like it. I wish I could curl up on my couch, but can't right now. My living room is stacked up with my daughter and her kids stuff, she had to move out of her house quickly and hasn't found a place to live yet. I do have a couch, somewhere, just haven't seen it in a long time, its buried. Its my rant for the day. I love them dearly but I am wanting my house back. They like leaving glasses laying around, candy wrappers, its driving me nutty. Hugs to you my pink smiling friend.

Hi Polly...my sympathies to you my dear...that must be rather a pain. I love my kids too but I'm also glad that they are a long way away...especially one family. The other family could come visit and stay...well, at least for a short while. I think they get fed up with me as well. And yes, they always leave signs around that they've been there. Hugs back to you dear one.

I love to be cosy and warm inside and sitting where I can watch the weather do it's thing outside. Storms tend to get really noisy here so even if I don't see it, I can still hear it...it's hard to ignore...

I don't like going out during rainy days actually. But when there is work, I have no other choice but to go to work. If it falls on a weekend, I would rather stay at home and do Mylotting.

sounds like you are doing exactly what i love on a day like that. when i worked in ohio i didnt mind such days. ive always loved the rain as long as it comes and goes after a day. problem here is it seldom rains enough in az and when it does the wind is just terrible. and in florida it seems all it did was rain and everything there began to smell moldy... so, id like being in ohio, doing what you are doing...lol

Hi there Tamara sweety. It's posts like yours that make me send up a prayer of thanks that I live on my own. I can do what I want, when I want, rain, hail or shine. Just wish I could teach the critters to wipe their tootsies when they come inside bringing lots of wet sandy soil clinging to the fur around their paws.

I woke up this morning to a windy and rainy day. We must be sharing the same weather. I like rainy days but ones mixed with wind i can do without. Qhen the ground is saturated with rain and the wind is blowing everything in sight, i will just stay indoors and listen to some cds or read a favorite book. Sooner or later the weather will turn back to something i can deal with.

"Into every life a little rain must fall" I can't remember where that quote comes from but it's true. I hope tomorrow is better for you. There are puddles everywhere here now so the earth is full of water again. The weeds will be rampant in a few weeks.

...Hi there MsT, First of all I have been wanting to congratulate you on having your avatar as one of the choices for discussions, that's neat. Now as to rainy days, I usually just like to be entertained by my favorite game shows or my one soap opera. Rain makes me meloncoly if that is spelled correctly. "o) Sometimes I write when it's raining and if it's raining hard I sleep, nothing like some zzzz while it's pouring. If it is a chilly rain I find my blanket as well. Love to be warm. Take good care. Say hi to the emus.

That avatar was my doing my friend but I appreciate your mentioning it.. Snuggling with our favourite things seems to be a theme for rainy day activities. The 2 days since the rain stopped have been glorious but last night was one of the chilliest I felt all winter. Oh, it's melancholy, btw. There's only one emu at the moment...every now and then one goes walkabout for a few weeks or so and then comes back, they probably take turns cause I can't tell them apart.

Hi jhyan...yep, you're right, this sort of day can certainly mess up your plans. I'm lucky though as I'm pretty much retired and do what I want, when I want. I ended up doing what I always do and that is, I sat at my lap top for most of the day.

Hello my friend! Now for me that wouldn't be a problem, as I don't mind the rain or the wind, I just hate the humidity and when the sun is hot! I am not a heat person and I detest the Summer, for me a miserable day would be when you just sweat doing nothing and everything, when the sun is blazing down and it's too hot to do anything. I tend to stay indoors more when the heat is on and prefer to go out when it's cold, windy and rainy! I love the Autumn and Spring and even the Winter, it's just the Summer I wish I could hibernate through. Mind you I hate Saturdays anyway, always have done and throughout my working life I always opted to work on a Saturday and have a day off in the week. Nowadays I just look forward to spending a few hours at the gym.

Wolfie my fun friend...how good of you to join me. I know how you dislike the heat and I can certainly sympathise with you. If you visit Australia, don't come in the Summer, not even at either end...it will drive you insane. For me, every day is the same except it is a tad quieter on the weekend I think. I might normally here one or 2 vehicles leaving to go off to work and maybe a big truck but in our little village the traffic and thus the smog and noise is negligible. It's easy to be content.

It is easy to forget that our seasons are opposite. We are just on the edge of fall. It can, sometimes, translate into the same windy wetness, though. I like to put something in the crockpot, or bake bread, or both. I can watch television, and drink lots of hot beverages. I emphasize the coffee and tea because I do not put sugar or cream in them, they are calorie free.I like to put on comfy clothes, and get online, or read a book. I can go to the library and feel all cozy and nice, as it was remodeled a year ago and really lends itself to staying a while. I do not like it if the roof leaks or something breaks and needs to be fixed.

I've just checked and there's nothing on TV. I was thinking it would be a good day to fix my bits of costume jewellery that have broken only it's getting rather dark now. It's only 1:00pm. It's become cold too and it's raining hard so I might put the fire on. I must get something out of the freezer for dinner as well...not sure what I feel like so far.

Hi MsTickle, It's already rainy season here in my country, and we have rain almost everyday. This is also the time when we start counting the typhoons that visit us, and I swear there are too many of them for a small country to handle. I don't particularly like this month coz it was the same month last year when the whole city was drowned by a super typhoon, and it left thousands of people homeless...Sorry, I seem to have spoiled some good thoughts about rain. Can't help it.

It is a bit windy here today too, but it is nice and warm. The sun is out, although there are a few clouds about - no rain. It did rain a little last night, but not too much. On days that are just nasty outside, then watching movies or reading a book is what I like to do, but most of the time I end up on the computer due to my computer addiction. I also like to work out on those days as it warms me up like nothing else and I feel like I have achieved something for the day then.

Good grief! It's MsTickle herself. - The mischievous MsTickle says "Hello opossums, it's great to be here with you all"
I've been known to go for walks in this kind of weather and thereby experiencing a whole new world. Living here though, rain means mud, mud and more mud of the slippery clay variety. If I go down I need a crane to get me back up and there aren't too many of those around. LOL I have finally got my fire to light and it's slowly becoming cosy in here. I have a giant sized cuppa to warm me up and I'm soon going to make some Mexican dip...a new recipe.

The season here now is one thing every farmer had looked forward to after a long summer. I always love rainy season, but when it rains for the whole week i start wishing for a sunny day. what's with rainy season? When the sky is cloudy and the surrounding is breezy, i'd love to stay out in the garden, do landscape and plant new seedlings. I'm always fascinated with green things around. And every trees and plant bloom during rainy days. Isn't that refreshing? Then i cuddle in bed read novels or watch my favorite TV series. It's always like, their's calmness during rainy days :)

Hello gharah and a wonderful warm welcome to myLot. Sounds like you have a great attitude to life. I too love to see green but alas, I live in an area besieged by drought. I lived in Singapore many years ago and I loved the lush greenery everywhere during the rainy season. Everything gets washed and becomes fresh and new again.
