| |  I prefer the older version of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. It is probably because I love older movies and I grew up with that one, so I may be a bit prejudiced.

| |  I definitely like the old version better. The new one just does not appeal to me. Neither seem to capture the book very well, but I think the older one does a better job.

| |  They are both very good movies and I'm not sure which one I like better. The new one is definitely closer to the book, but that was it's goal as opposed to the older one. Plus, Johnny Depp is one of my favourite actors and delivered an all-star performance as Willy Wonka. I guess I would say the new one. A lot of people complained about the Oompa Loompa songs in the new one, but if you read the book the lyrics are identical, so that's why they are the way they are. But, again, both movies are excellent.
