This really shouldn't surprise anyone familiar with Berkeley, the same city that produced John Walker Lindh, the American al Quaeda, and tried to ban the Marines from recruiting in their city. Now they want to pass a resolution honoring the man suspected of leaking military documents to wikileaks that have endangered the lives of our troops and the people of Afghanistan who have worked to help us. Is there no limit to what the scumbags of this city will do to show their hatred for their own country? People got all pissy about Sarah Palin calling some people "pro-America" as if it implies other people are "anti-America". Guess what? There ARE Anti-American people out there and Berkeley, CA is their capital. For the record, the guy suspected of this leak is ONLY a suspect so I'm not presuming guilt at this point. The people of Berkeley are just so eager to honor a traitor that they'll rush to judgment even before the man has had his day in court. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/12/08/veterans-group-blasts-resolution-honor-army-private-accused-leaks/

Not really sure if you can call something Anti- American as well isn't America founded on the personal freedoms of others to do as they please as long as it doesn't violate the rights of others to Life,Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness at least I would consider something that is violating anothers rights to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness to be anti-american as for Berkeley, CA. This school is located there University of California, Berkeley and well they are known for not being the most pro-government school in the United States. They are a progressive left leaning school. AS for the soldier he should be charged if it is found he was the one to leak the information as he did violate rules of the Military and it could be considered a traitrous act. The only issue is we are not currently in a War. So they would have to give details as to how he helped our enemies (won't be to hard to do). In which case he then if found to be guilty of treason should face the consequences of his actions. Berkeley,CA You are putting the whole city into this when I can tell you not everyone supports the idea as much as I can assure you not everyone supports Christianity. They are seeing him as being a whistle blower to the things that he is currently accused of releasing to Wikileaks. So if you look at him from the perspective of being a person who released information on the basis that he felt the Government/Military where doing immoral or unethical things that the people needed to know about. Then you could see him as a Hero of sorts. Personally I don't seem him as a Hero. But I am not going to judge him as it is not my place and I do not know all the information on this case. As I am not going to judge a city on the actions of a few.

Anyone that wants to harm this country is anti-American. Berkeley is well known for this kind of crap. As I said, they produced John Walker Lindh and their city has consistently fought against the US government by trying to block military recruiters from being in their city. When they realized they would lose federal funds for that crap they reserved the parking spaces in front of recruiting offices for Code Pink. The public schools in Berkeley also came under fire some years ago because they were teaching children to be Muslims, even making them take Muslim names, and pray to Allah. Am I saying EVERYONE in Berkeley, CA is anti-American? Of course not. Just like I wouldn't say that everyone in Saudi Arabia hates women and wants rape victims beaten for being with a man that is not their husband. The difference with Berkeley of course is that the people keep voting in these morons whereas in Saudi Arabia, people have no control over their government so in Berkeley, if even a slim majority disagreed with the lunacy there, they could easily replace their politicians with ones that are not anti-American extremists. "The only issue is we are not currently in a War." What? Dude, we've been in a war in Afghanistan for almost a decade. It was officially declared on September 14, 2001. The war in Iraq was officially declared on March 3, 2003. Both were voted on and passed by congress.

There is nothing in the constitution that claims congress must use the words "Declaration of war". If congress votes to attack a nation, that's a vote to go to war with that nation. It's not like they didn't realize it was a war they were voting for when they voted on "Operation Enduring Freedom" or "Operation Iraqi Freedom". They didn't use the word "War" because they wanted to pull that feel good crap that we are helping the people, but attacking their leaders. It's part of the stupid mentality that started with Vietnam where we somehow forgot how to fight a war.

I am sorry but the "war" in Afghanistan isn't a war per the United States Constitution just the authorization to use military force not the same thing as a Declaration of War. Same thing goes for Iraq neither are Wars. As a War would require a Declaration of War between the countries of the United States and Iraq and Afghanistan. These are not Wars the last war we here ever declared to be in was WWII. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Declaration_of_war_by_the_United_States http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZmPS0XmeBw http://www.ronpaul.com/2010-07-02/ron-paul-the-war-thats-not-a-war/ Maybe you should know we aren't at war.

Oh I've always known this about Berkeley, I just think that a resolution to honor a traitor is a new low. I suppose I could be wrong though. This could just be the next logical step for them.

Berkeley is by the coast, next to San Fransisco and Oakland. People living in that whole area are pretty loony.

Which is why California is known as the 'land of fruits and nuts'.

Maybe there is no limit to what the anti-American liberals (controlling fraction of the democratic party) will do, at least until they have made the USA a third world country. Likewise, one might ask why the leaders of our country and the great majority of the population of our country barely take notice of this kind of thing. This is not one whack-job speaking out against America, but rather the leadership of a city choosing to do this.
