Beware of unauthorized charges on phone bill from MDVM

My cable/phone/internet bill was $16 more this month and lo and behold, someone registered for MDVM Connect using my name and phone number. The service is $14.95/month for fax services and all that is needed to register and get billed to your phone number is name and phone number. So, of course, I called them and they started asking me for my address and I told them "why on earth would I give you my address if you already have it." They said for verification purposes but wouldn't even give me the zip code they have for me. I was asking for the $16 back but suddenly she volunteered to cancel my subscription which a minute ago she wouldn't do without my address and refund the whole $29.99 plus tax! She did give up the ip address from where it came very easily though. Ugh, Verizon put a stop on any extra charges to my telephone number in the future and they were suspiciously very helpful with this. They are surely having a lot of problems with these extra charges. Check your bills!
