mylotters,
just a few days ago, there was this incident of bus bombing in the metropolis and many have died and some hospitalized due to it.
there were talks that if buyers of sim cards are registered, this may curb the terroristic acts of people who have bad intentions and be able to pinpoint the culprit.
do you agree to the mandatory registration of simcards?

As per rule registration is a must, but who cares, here in my city you can buy pre-activated SIMs in tons, people buy, talk throw away, if they use for some thing bad, they will not be caught, but the person in whose name it was activated will be caught, it may be you or me, who have registered once..these people use our details for activation of cards in bunches..the service providers are involved
Thanks for sharing the incident, these are becoming so common
Cheers.
God bless you, have a nice day ahead.

Definitely. IMHO only those trying to evade the law or complaints of irate consumers use pre-paid SIM cards. This will not stop criminals from using cellphones as trigger devices but at least the investigators will have a starting point in pursuing criminals. Also, those selling cellphones should be required to keep a list of their buyers or some kind of code to identify the provenance of the phones.
By the way, I also consider scam texts as an act of terrorism. My mother received a text saying that my brother was in an accident and was asking for a load. Although its such a stupid scam (can you pay the hospital with load?) but my mother was certainly terrorized.

I guess that I will be the odd person that will say that I don't think that you should have your sim card registered. The reason that I don't think that it should be mandatory to register your sim card is because of the fact that people want to be able to maintain some sort of anonymity to our lives and to have to register your sim card takes that away from you. That said, I can also see where this kind of talk would come from.
