laglen,
Well, I have to say that he is definitely in charge and that his call is absolutely justifiable.
Let's not forget that the British are pulling out as well and in the first place. I do not know what Americans see but I have to say that both Iraq and Afghan is really another lost cause. Both of them, aren't really accepting the needed advocate to change and certainly unappreciative when they are turning against the extended hand to help. Worse, soldiers are being killed as a result and to this very day.
If it wasn't for the very needed oil here, I just really cannot help to say that they should face whatever is coming at them. Let them have it or fight amongst themselves and wipe each other out.

The only real problem I have with this kind of mistake is that it would not be forgiven by the media if it were uttered by someone on the right. They don't hold him accountable for what he says. The blind adulation is the danger, more dangerous than the president's inept handling of his job.

Hey what can you expects from a man who is not even sure when he was born!!!! But it is OK because it will just be another case of "he just misspoke".

I'll give him a break on this one. He's got plenty on his plate to deal with and a misstatement now and then should be expected. But when he realized his misstatement (I hope that he did), I would think he would have corrected it. But I think we all knew what he meant... I'm glad we'll be out of Iraq, but I worry about what's going to happen after we've left. I think Iran/others are just waiting to pounce... And I'm not sure Iraq is strong enough to fight back. But then you've got to let the "baby" walk sometime.
