Moon: What's the truth???

India
February 18, 2011 5:57am CST
It is said that we landed on Moon during 1969-1972. It has been approximately 40 years, our technology has improved a lot. E.g. That was the time when TV was an extra ordinary electronic gadget (at least in India). Today, having an advanced cell phone is only 'Okay'. Que1: Don't you think if we can colonize moon, it will be a great achievement for us? We might say that we are still not that advanced to go out of the earth atmosphere for living, I would say, 'okay' but why haven't we repeated the same thing that we could do 40 years back, at least, it would have given us more information in exploring our moon. Que2: Isn't there a question mark in your mind when it comes to NASA's research on Moon? E.g. Suppose in a maths exam there are two questions one is easy (Like moon) to answer and for less marks & the other is tough (Like other planets and our galaxy) but for more marks, which one you will try to do first? Apart from main stream scientists and governments reasons regarding this topic, there are others who believe in different theories. 1. There are people who believe that we never landed on moon, it is still not possible for our technology (till date) to send humans on Moon, that was just a hoax to compete with Soviet Union during the cold war. For more details, check this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yo5w0pm24ic&feature=fvst 2. There are others who claim that aliens have their base on moon and they have warned us not to return to moon. (Sounds weird but check the facts) Check these URLs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uagbZmWcl7I http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6QNzH4x1rY Check on Youtube for "Disclosure project" to get more details.

We've been to the moon and there's nothing there that we can use. We have a beautiful planet called Earth. It has beyond what we could ever want or need. Let's take care of it. Why don't we just stop killing each other and get along.

Thanks for your response, 1hopefulman. Please do not think "there's nothing there", there are so many things in this Universe and as an intelligent race, we will find our ways out of this planet so that we can grow in this Universe. I know you believe in God and it is good but at the same time, we must think logically as well. The way climate is changing it will be very good for us, if we can colonize some other planet or our moon at least. When a civilization grows, it first colonizes it's moon, these are words of well known scientists. Try to visualize the earth of 2060, you will get so many answers.

I do try to keep an open mind. But remember there is no air on the moon. We have plenty of air here but if we keep polluting, it will eventually choke us. Of course I know that God won't let us get so far that life would become extinct on earth. I do not have a problem with exploration of other planets. It's just that we don't learn to take care of this beautiful planet, chances are that we would just extend our destructive ways to other planets.

1hopefulman, thanks for taking time and reading my comment. There are a very few mylotters who express themselves no matter what the topic is and what the other person will think and that results in a good discussion. You are among those very few people and your comments do inspire us to believe in god. If all of us think like you and believe in god, there will be no problems in our life. In reply to your last comment: Human being has developed a lot and now we have something called, "Education system". Most of us get the opportunities to complete our studies and learn so many things of our interest and good manners as well. However, not everyone of us actually 'understand' the meaning of things that are taught to us, this is the main reason of "Selfishness", "Corruption" and other such things in our society. And the sad part is we can not change such people. Now our society with a majority of such people will not preserve our earth. That is why, we need to explore other possibility. It's like you can't expect a 2 month (2000 years of earth are not even 2 minutes if compared to the age of our galaxy) old baby to be in same pant for one day. If we (human being) have to live a future where majority will think like 'you', we (human being) will have to be alive for more than another 200 hundred years and I am not sure that will be possible on earth.

The Mythbusters are Hollywood special effects experts. If they couldn't recreate the moon landing in a studio with today's technology, there's no way it was done in the 60's with the technology they had then. As for aliens living on the moon... I don't even know what to say to that. It's entirely too absurd for me to wrap my head around. That's not saying I don't believe there are aliens, just that I don't believe they have a home base on the moon.

Even I felt the same when first I came across such videos and articles but now I am normal and if you believe on aliens and their visit to earth, I would suggest you to download and watch or search on youtube the documentary named "Ancient Aliens" and you can also check the other URLs on this webpage for more interesting things.

I will address the moon hoax issue first so que2 first: "Isn't there a question mark in your mind when it comes to NASA's research on Moon?" No, there is no question in my mind other than when are we going again. There is a mountain of good solid evidence that we did and not a shred of credible evidence for it being a hoax. In fact, it was logistically and technically easier to go got the moon than it would have been to fake it. I have seen all the "evidence" offered by hoax per porters and none of it adds up to a hoax. Also think about it. The Russians (and China and the rest of the world) monitored our moon launches very closely. If they had spotted even an inkling it was fake, they would have been the first to pronounce it as a fake. My father was part of a nation wide ham radio net that monitored the launch and flight. All of them had to readjust their antennas to do so and all confirm the signals were coming from a single point from....drum roll please...the moon. On to the rest "Don't you think if we can colonize moon, it will be a great achievement for us?" Indeed it would be. It is totally possible though expensive and difficult. Some have even proposed transforming it by giving it an atmosphere but this could create as many problems as it would solve. right now, landing on the moon is fairly easy because there is no atmosphere to complicate a landing. On earth, the atmosphere creates friction which requires a heat shield to protect the craft. in addition to this, with out an atmosphere, any telescopes placed up there will have a pristine and undistorted view of the skies. an atmosphere also makes landing difficult in that one must calculate the physics of air in to any landing. "Suppose in a maths exam there are two questions one is easy (Like moon) to answer and for less marks & the other is tough (Like other planets and our galaxy) but for more marks, which one you will try to do first? " It makes sense to do the easier thing first and build on the knowledge we gain from it to do the next, more difficult thing. "There are others who claim that aliens have their base on moon and they have warned us not to return to moon." LOL!!!!!!! Wow, now THATS a new one on me, but an easy one to deal with. Point a good telescope at the moon and tell me what you see. I can assure you there are no alien bases on the moon and no one has ever demonstrated otherwise.

I thank you again for the kind words. I have found very few people as well who are willing to actually discuss things as you do. Most put a post out there and never return to it....so glad you aren't "that guy". There are a lot of places on earth it is difficult to do astronomy from....light pollution often makes it hard to see. Fortunately however, there are alot of other places that are. There are hundreds of thousands of amateur astronomers around the world. I must also add that the term "amateur" when applied to astronomers is a bit misleading, since many of these guys posses some pretty sophisticated gear. They also tend to be nearly as knowledgeable as their professional counterparts. Astronomers are notorious gear hounds and often spare no expense in buying equipment for their hobby. In fact, many recent discoveries were made by amateurs...including a super nova discovered by a 10 year old girl (lucky little sh1t!, lol) I have a great deal of respect of Dr. Kaku. He is brilliant and has a way of explaining complex things so that even an idiot like me can understand it. However, he has never said there were alien bases on the moon. His belief is that the first occupants of the moon will indeed be "higher level"...referring to scientists and engineers. It would be foolish to send regular folks up there first as there is no infrastructure or habitat there right now. So it makes sense to send up those who can create and establish the needed infrastructure and habitats required to sustain a population. As for the disclosure project...they are chasing phantoms. Sgt wolf was a repair man for photographic equipment. He has no experience in astronomy, astrophysics, space travel/habitation or actual photo analysis. I watched a video where he re-tells his account of being shown "alien bases on the moon" in photos by another Airman SC. He described dome and mushroom shaped structures and towers. The account ends there. I have two thoughts....either Sgt Wolf is lying....or he and the other airman are wildly mistaken in what they saw and interpreted. One can look at hundreds of images taken from the Moon, Mars, etc and "see things" in them that aren't actually there. But without the actual photographs to back up the story...it is just a story. In god we trust...all others bring data. I believe that the discover of alien life will be announced in my life time. We will likely determine there are micro organisms deep in the soil of Mars or the oceans of Eurpopa. It isn't a civilization we can communicate with but it would still be an epic discovery of unprecedented proportions none the less.

xfahctor, let me tell you something, there are only very few people on mylot who read the discussion as carefully as you do and reply as logically as you do. People like you are making mylot a much better place to discuss any topic. It's good to know that your family was involved in lunar landing mission and it's a kind of confirmation for me on this topic (that we landed on moon). Apart from that, when it comes to Alien base, trust me, in India it is very difficult to look at the sky, there is no way one can have the time to get a telescope and start researching (however, if I get the time, I would love to do that). I would like to know your thoughts on disclosure project (try searching for "Sgt. Karl Wolf: US Air Force") and the videos which I have mentioned in my description, where they describe that it's not only recently but in past as well people have reported suspicious activities on moon. Even "Michio Kaku" says that a higher level civilization will occupy the moons first, I don't know why?

Great description and well spoken like always! When you mention the girl discovering the super nova...I totally remember hearing about that, and I'd have to agree....lucky sh1t. I remember hearing a few months back about the structures on the moon. I watched a video that shows a load of NASA photos that were removed or edited from their files because the were the ones that showed these structures. I think I remember hearing that it was located on the "dark side" of the moon...I can't remember, does the moon rotate, too, or are we always seeing the same side? I thought it rotated, which would give us complete views of the entire moon, so if you had a good telescope, you'd be able to see them. I don't think that I could hop on board believing that theory. It's just a little too far fetched for me. As for colonizing the moon, yeah, it's possible, but too expensive to be considered logical. Again, great postings, you guys. Xfahctor, I was hoping for your thoughts on one of my discussions if you get the time.........http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2492469.aspx

It seems once mankind went to the moon it all begun, my guess is they found something in there, specially someone. Like in star trek while we don't achieve certain speed going to space vulcans don't make contact to us but once we get where most of alien civilizations did then they come back and make first contact.

There were always alien contactees in the past but it was Hitler's efforts that made a difference and he could build so many un-imaginable things (a few people claim that he had built time-machine) and during 2nd world war there were so many suspicious things going on. (E.g. 1942 incident in US) http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi610834969/ Search for Nazi party secrets, you will come to know so many things. It all started in US only after 2nd world war, when they brought in all the German scientists and from then onward we achieved so many things in only 50 years but we never even thought of returning to moon.

I read recently that the astronauts had chips implanted in their brains to monitor their emotions etc; and it was one of those 'light bulb above the head' moments, how easy would it be to simply implant the whole 'trip' in their brains? They could be polygraphed until the cows come home, they'd always give the 'truth' - classic programming :) Stanley Kubrick did a good job, by the way.
