I could remember my last letter that I wrote with an ink pen was about 5 years back, which was to my grandparents. It was written in my mother tongue Malayalam. I also received a reply in back. When I got that reply it was something special. Even now I have that letter with me which I keep as treasure that has a precious part in my life.

Well i have used ink pen when i was in 5th or 6th grade that's a long time back now i just use ball pen as it long last for more time using ink pen is very problematic as we are required to fill the ink again and again but the only good point it has is that we can stick with one pen forever and not like ball pen when throw it away when the refill is gone instead on changing the refill

Hello Sham, I can’t remember when I used an ink pen lastly. But I remember when I got an ink in first place. When I was in 5th standard I got an ink pen from my grandfather. That time ink pen was more popular and we can use the pen only from 5th in school. I was so glad to get a new pen for the first time.

Goodness! I can't remember how long it's been since I used an ink pen. It must be close to 20 years (I think). Technically, all the pens we use are 'ink' pens :P It's been ages since I wrote to my parents in Malayalam too. My older son is learning to read and write Malayalam but the younger one is not interested at all.

Me too, I have never had the chance to write with with an ink pen. But I always wish t try and use one. The feeling must be very nice for you rarely see these kind of pens these days.

I think the last time I've written using a pen would have to be last year when I attended a retreat/ spiritual seminar and composed our letter to God. We were then required as part of our activity to write anything that we want to tell God and what we want to ask from Him. It was a meaningful letter that some were given the chance to read it in front of the participants. After the seminar, those letters were collected and given to the facilitator to be burnt. It was so significant as we felt our letters and prayers all evaporate and hoped to reach God figuratively.

Wow that was a long time ago. Hmm maybe some 6 years ago i guess, I can't remember exactly. Anyway I had totally forgotten about it. Now I remember I loved writing with ink pen. But my hand always got inky ( or whatever you call it :D ).

Two days ago! I have a friend in Kitchener who works at a radio station, and another friend who works at the same station (OK he's the President!) but he also sells baklava at our local farmer's market. I wanted to send a piece of chocolate to my second friend at the station, so I put it in a package, with a handwritten card, and gave it to my friend to drop off, when he went to work.

I'm writing one now! Is that really so old-fashioned? Just because we type doesn't mean that we can't enjoy a handwritten letter between friends. I think it adds to the charm! Maggiepie "Life is hard. It's even harder if you're stupid." ~ John Wayne

You liked my quote? They're rarely connected to the subject matter of my post, & I change them out often...(see today's)...but, you didn't answer my question, which was, basically, are people not writing letters by hand any longer since the onset of the internet? If not, that would be a real shame. Maggiepie "I see too much order in the universe to believe this could have been accidental." Albert Einstein's reply when asked how he could believe in a Creator.
