Well the electromagnetic radiations from a mobile phone in use i mean switched on can interfere and produce a spark that can lead to explosion and fire..

Here in the U.S. we're not supposed to use the cell phones when pumping gas as they are known to spark and it just takes a tiny spark to ignite gas fumes..

Sparks lead to fires, then explosions. The interference the phones emit are enough to set just one spark off and cause a fire.
Because fuel is so highly flammable, it's advised not to smoke near pumps or use cell phones. Same goes with having your engine running. If the vehicle backfires, or something happens with the spark plugs, that's it, there's a spark there.
It's extremely dangerous and not worth experimenting with.

The signal of mobile phone can create a spark which can lead to an explosion. I saw this on TV, a program showing real life videos. It can really happen so do not speak on the cell phone when you are filling up the tank.
