Against the flow

Several years ago I was on Hong Kong and whenever I hit the pavement I seemed to be walking against a tide of humanity going in the opposite direction. I winfer where they were all going. Do we all walk against the flow?

I know I've been going against the flow all my life. And, not like a salmon who does eventually reach its destination - but like a bird caught in an updraft who just flaps and flaps and flaps and never goes forward. Except, for me the updraft doesn't stop. Ya know? PS - I hate crowds!! LOL

What the H are you doing up at 4:30 am???????? But, I am a crowd magnet. I'll stop at the local convenience store and see that it is gloriously empty only to have so many people show up once I'm inside that I have to wait to check out!! Or a diner or any other retail location. My daughter knows it and now it is happening when I'm with Tom. It's like I'm the pied piper of paying customers. They ought to pay me like they do mystery shoppers for me to arrive and lead the mice to the trap!!

I walk my own direction.... The flow may choose to go with me, or not.

I don't know, but I heard that a three-legged dog walked into a bar in Texas and asked, . . "Who shot my paw?"

Poor puppy. I hope that whoever did that ended up in the doghouse.

I like going against the flow, figuratively, but it can be a lot of trouble in reality. I used to go in the out door just to disobey the rules. I'd flaunt authority whenever I could and I found some pretty neat experiences that way! Watching a herd of people stampede all in one direction is kind of creepy. Going against the flow can be very difficult! But I'll be people were considerate, I hear they are very polite over there.

We are polite to foeigners. But to each other. Yep, we're polite! LOL. Like Canada without the accent!

Hi P1key, I have the same problems but with me its in Brighton or Croydon, on a Saturday, lol! I hate going anywhere that is so crowed so I stay home and if I have to go do some shopping, I will try and go on a week when kids are in school and everyone else is at work, lol! its much better, as I always end up going one way and ther rest going the other. Since I normally tend to go to the right anyways I tend to believe I am always walking in the wrong direction anyways. lol Usually I find that I did go the wrong way. So let's say that although I do not go with the flow my righty moments are as great.

Now I shall have to see if I head right or left when I am out. I am right handed so guess that I head that way. But we drive on the left here so perhaps when I walk I think that I am a car and go that way! Hmmm.

I tend to avoid crowds. Occasionally a few people will try to run into me in the opposite direction on the sidewalk on the way to the coffee shop, but they see my white cane, and move out of my way, because either they know I can't see them, or they're afraid of the spike on the end of it. LOL I may not be able to see them, but I can tell by the sound of their voices, where their butts are, incase I ever do need to use that spike. LOL

LOL. I have a friend who exaggerated the sweep of her cane as she walks to keep people out of her space. But she also does the little girl lost act when she wants attention. The minx! LOL.

I've been a rebel since I was a kid. Couldn't ever understand why I had to conform and worry about what the neighbor's would say. Finally understood. So I'm still a rebel

Good for you. Conformity can be so dull,

I don't mind if i walk against the flow. If being so would correct what is wrong, then i will walk against the flow. I will always follow the flow that my mind dictates me to be good.

Sounds a good ploy to me.
