New Zealand has performed very well in this tournament so far much above general expectations from them. They demolished mighty Pakistan to stand second in their group just behind Australia. Today Sri Lanka is struggling against their pace attack in the match underway at Wankhede stadium, Mumbai. Sri Lanka at the moment are 106 for 2 in 26.2 overs just going at four runs an over. Winning the toss and electing to bat, Sri Lanla started badly loosing both their openers with just 19 on the board. Skipper Sangakara and Jayawardana used all their experience to steady the ship and added 90 odd runs without causing any further damage. Kiwis may struggle later on playing under lights but nothing can be said they are equipped with the batsmen to chase any score.

Sri Lanka went on to win the match pretty comfortably. The New Zealand batting simply crumbled against the spinning ball. And it was that wily old fox Muralidharan who went on to take another 4 wicket haul to condemn the kiwis to a big loss. I think the total was very much chasable, but the fallacies of the kiwis against the turning ball cost them the match.
Cheers!
