Hello Friends :)
I guess pen drive is very common thing these days and most of all computer users having it. And it is also common that people always borrow others pen drives for carrying their data.
One of my friend having two pen drives. And he never minds to give his pen drive to his friends whenever their friends ask him for that. Now in morning he was telling me that he is giving pen drive to too many people. And he really don't remembered that who having his one of his pen drive. I mean he forgot who has borrowed it from him.
Well now he is asking to every friends (even me) for his pen drive.
I hope he will get his pen drive soon.
About me i give my pen drive to my some of friends but not frequently. And i always used to take it back after 1 or 2 days. As pen drive is one of main source of viruses so i avoid to give it to others regularly.
What about you ??? Have you passed through situation like this anytime. And is your pen drive staying with others more than you ??!!

oh,today i get a new word, pen drive seems to be commom in your life and i see most of the repliers have at least two or three pend drives haha,i have no pen drivers but maybe USB or mobile hard disk has the same function as pendrive? yes,i have both of them and i'm glad to lend them to others luckily they return them to me quickly and i can alway have them in hand.most of the people around me understand better this proverb"good borrow and good return and next time not difficult to borrow".while for those who did bother to return ,i will lend them for once ,twice ,but the third,i am sorry no...maybe you have to learn to refuse somebody...

Yes mobile and usb hard disk has almost same functionality as Pen drive. That's good that all people around you is like good borrow and good return. Hope people around me can be like that also.
But its just reversed. I mean people here love to borrow but they returned the things as they want.

I am having the same issue.. I am having 3 pen drives.. and also all are of different storage capacity. 2,4 and 8 GB.. :) manier times friends borrow from me and sometimes I forget who has taken my pen drive.. though I can say it's good luck that I haven't lost my pen drive yet..

I would NEVER lend one of my drives to someone else because they all contain data that they might delete or at worst corrupt the entire drive. One of my drives contains personal data and there's no way that drive is going to get into someone elses hands for them to go rummaging through all my private files.
Tell them to get there own drive, there are some pretty cheap ones about - but probably not as cheap as your scrounging friends!

Yes there are very cheap pen drives available now. I remember i had purchased very costly one in starting in compare of now.
Well surely you shouldn't lend your drive to others if you are carrying important data on it. Yes it may get corrupted and cause you loose data.

I would never lend anyone my usb drive. That is like a personal thing. What if you have something on there that you do not want anyone to see and you lend it to someone. They would know everything. I believe that you always keep your information safe and secure. Also, if someone uses it, your computer might get a virus, after all I am sure most of you people use PC's not Macs. Thank god I have a Mac.

Yes i have heard that mac is quite virus free system.
Yes if you carrying important and personal data on pen drive then surely you shouldn't share it with anyone. I mostly use pen drive only for transferring data from one system to another. No private or important data i store in it.

Hello akp
I have been lucky not to be asked for my pen drive and thankfully because although I am a sharing person my pen drive would be like too private. I almost feel that it is like sacred information. See I have lots of documents on my 3 pen drives so loaning them means sharing my files.
So I have not had to pleasure to be asked and you are right about the virus, it is probable to pick one up easily then transfer it to our laptop and or PC's.
Mine are really expensive ones and there are very inexpensive ones many can purchase for themselves. So mine stay with me always.

Hi Friend..
That's a good choice. I had experienced of virus in my system because of that so better be safe and not give them to others.
About me .. I guess I am having bad habit as i can't say no. So whenever any close friend ask me for it i give them. That's why i don't keep any important documents on it.( only saving it on my laptop's hard disk ) And whenever my friend give my pen drive back after completing his work i format it before i entered it in my laptop.
So i am only using my pen drive to transferring data from one system to another not for carry or saving important data.

I gave my husband's pen drive to my nephew's cousin. My husband had asked him to save a film in it. He did not bother to return it. I was so tensed and had to ask him and his father so many times for returning it. never give anything valuable to anybody.

My friend tell me today that he also got his pen drive from his friend. Well even i can't sat no to my friends but I don't give my drive to all as there is more chance of viruses.
