Hi dear Mylotters!! I just want to share with you my great excitement. I´ve been planning this trip since 8 years ago, I´ve got my tickets last Sept. Osama´s dead wont stop me now. I´ll fly this Saturday, if God allows it to me. I´m really freaking! I haven´t prepared my suitcase yet, I think I´ll cry a little bit while packing. I´m trying to do my suitcase since last week, but I simply can´t. I´m sure I´ll cry. Haven´t it happened to you? I´m just out of home (yours too) for a week, but I´ve never been out without my husband&kids. I haven´t been alone for 13 years. Even, I haven´t had any vacation days for 14 years. I haven´t stopped working for 14 years. This Saturday I´ll take my plane from Mexico City, where I was born. But now it is 4 hours away from this city (León). This Sunday I´ll attend mass at London, if God allows it to me. I´ll be at London for 6 hours. Then I´ll fly to Portugal. Where I´ll be taking "a coffe" in the airport from midnight to 6 am, lol. Then I´ll be at Lisbon in a backpacker hotel for the 9th. And the 10th, I´ll take a bus to FATIMA. To be with our mother Mary. At Fatima I´ll met "my dear nuns", I´ll be with them the whole week. Then I´ll return to London, and then I´ll stop at NY just for 3 hours. If God allows it to me I´ll be back at Mexico on Sunday 15th at 6 am, and back León at 8 pm. I´m taking some Mary of Guadalupe Stamps for the nuns, and some handmade leather wallets to "My dear Nuns"... and a friend suggested me to offer them some Tequila... hahaha. What do you think? What do you suggest me? I´m also carrying with me a box of Quaker cookies... lol. Have you ever felt like me? Blessings... Dainy

Before my husband retired, his friend used to tell him of the trips he took to Alaska. His friend had a bit more money then both of us. The thing was that we had to move to Winnipeg, but my husband told me that when he retires we will take an Alaskan Cruise. So soon after we retired, we took that cruise, and that was exciting not knowing if it was night because it was in summer. Then we decided to take a trip to Prince Edward Island and after seeing the relatives, to go back through the States. It was exciting seeing all those rolling hills, and we actually went to the Mall of America! It was before shopping hours (darn it!) and Icould not do any shopping, which is good as I did not have any money to do so. But there was this pet store in there, with all those cut little puppies. I had not been into the states since we were first married, and then only from Washington State to North Dakota, so I never knew how beautiful the EAstern States were.

Thank you. I have always seen those movies about the EAstern States, and wanted to go there for visits. I even dreamed I was on a train heading down to Florida. Maybe in the future i will go there (minus tornados and hurricanes of course. )

Oh Suspenseful! Thanks you for sharing with me that lovely memories. There´s a phrase that says: Recall is to live again... isn´t it? We should thank God that he allows to achieve our goals. Isn´t it? There are many people that is not use to achieve goals, so they cannot share all this lovely positive energy, that flows through. Don´t you think so? I remember, that when I travelled to Texas with my father, when I was a little girl, I also loved the pets shop. And I came back to Mexico with full of things for my kitty... hahaha lol. Yes, sometimes we don´t have enough money to spent on the location. But here in my country we had another phrase that is " what you have eaten and what you have dance, nobody can grab it from you!" hahaha, that means that the lovely memories stay in your heart forever. Isn´t it? I´ll take you in my heart, and in my prayers, and I´ll take your husband too, with your needs and hopes. Blessings!... Dainy

Whoa Dainy! Great going! I think that after those years, you deserve the vacation. I hope you enjoy it, and that the trip is everything you thought it to be. I love travelling too, and I have done a lot for work. But there is just nothing that compares to a trip for vacation or adventure. Von Voyage!

Dainy Your trip sounds wonderful my friend and I am happy for you. God willing all will be fine and you will have a great time. Start packing my friend so that you do not forget anything important then have to bear unnecessary costs. Make a list of what you think is important then check it all off your list to make sure it is all packed and your trip can start off without any issues. As for the nuns, you presence will be a gift enough, although some cookies would be best over the tequila. lol Enjoy yourself my friend and hope you come back with lots of discussions to share with us. Be well and many blessings to you.

I know that as you have been planning your trip for the last 14 years it is like a trip of a lifetime. You haven't had any vacations since that time. Now it is almost time for you to depart on your fantastic trip. I must tell you there are a number of different airports in London: Heathrow, Gatwick, City, Luton and Stansted. I imagine you will fly from Mexico City to London Heathrow. You need to check which of London's airports you will fly to Lisbon. I traveled to Portugal 3 years ago. I loved it in Lisbon and it is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. I recommend you ride on a tram and look around at the attractive looking architecture. I think that the nuns will enjoy meeting you at Fatima. I hope that you will have an excellent trip.

Hello Maximax8!! I am so glad and pleased that you wrote me, because I know you are a travel expert! Thanks you for your cheers. Yes, I´ve been planning this trip for so long! I feel like if I were traveling to a history gate. I mean this for the great culture you have in Europe. Thanks you for the advice of being careful to look for my plane in the proper airport. I arrive to Heathdrow, effectively and I depart again from Heathdrow, I´ve just checked it out =) Today I got a print of Picadilly line, at least to take a little bit the nose out of the airport. I should care from wich LHR terminal I´ll depart, because I´ve noticed there are 3 metro stations on Heathdrow, it´s big, though. I am happy to know that you enjoyed Lisbon, because my mother decouraged me because she was there 3 years ago, just like you, and she says she didn´t love it. But, really, for me Lisbon is LISBON! So I got my Lisbon guide and Fatima history, and I´ll try to get the best of the trip. I´ll take you in my heart and in my prayers! I´ll write back! Blessings!... Dainy

Getting ready for travel is more exciting than travel itself and I see that excitement in your topic. I have been through several travels and my suitcase is left open several days before the great departure. Apart from making a check list my aides will throw in that suitcase whatever they feel would be needed and on the penultimate day of travel the contents of the suitcase is checked with the checklist.I need not mention I would stay awake the whole of the previous night. And when I return it will be nothing but calling everyone telling about my experience. I am feeling so happy for you as I can fully understand your excitement. Safe journey!

Hahaha Allknowing lol sure indeed! I´m already feeling sad thinking on the plane back home LoL. Yes I´m very excited, thanks you for your support! I´ve been waiting for this trip from so long. It seemed like a dream, and it is now here knocking at the door. Where have you travelled? So you have great experience packing bags!! It is good idea to make the suitcase by stages... =), and with a checklist. I have my checklist too, but it seems as if I don´t want this dream to reach its end, and I don´t begin with the first thing "to do" in my checklist, though... =) I am so pleased with your charmful words! I´ll have you in my prayers! Blessings!... Dainy

Really a nice trip, dainy, and I am sure you will enjoy it. It is short too, and you will not have time to visit London and Lisbon. I wish you a happy holidays at Fatima, and I hope you will tell us your travel in another discussion when you will be back in Mexico. I think that the nuns will prefer cookies to tequila. Have a nice trip.

Haaaaa hahaha yes it may be that the nuns will prefer cookies. What funny though!! Yes it is a short trip. I haven´t enough money nor courage to be more time in Europe, alone. I´d prefer to travel with my family, but if God allows it I have to return with them to Fatima with more time... don´t you think so? Thanks you so much for your good wishes, I really appreciate them, I´m so nervous. I´ll return and will tell you about my trip! Hotels reservation are out since September! Can you believe it? We´ll be a crowd there! lol I´ll have you in my prayers Topffer! Blessings! Dainy
