Have you ever had this happen to you? I'll be somewhere...in church, say, or sitting the the car driving down the road and a topic for a mylot discussion will occur to me. Then when I get to my computer it's gone!
What do you do when that happens? I have started writing them down while I'm thinking of them. Otherwise, when I get to mylot, my mind will draw a complete blank and I hate that!
What do you do when you are wanting to start a discussion? Where do you get your ideas from for topics?

I feel the same way, whenever I'm out I usually come across experiences where I find myself asking a question then plan to ask it all out here in mylot (for more access on opinions rather than think about it myself) but I always find myself lost for whatever the topic was when I am already at home sitting on my computer. It is actually annoying.
Anyhow, I usually find my topics out of my imaginations and just pondering about things or things that happen in my life or something that I read or see on television or my other friends.
However, one puzzling thing that I do notice is that, there are people in mylot who are very good at remembering the topics you type in and seems to co-relate every single topic you open to whatever you said in the previous topic. Yeah, it sounds nice for some because it shows that they're thoughtful and some, however, I find it annoying at times because if I wanted the responder to relate it to the other topics then I would have probably just said 'in relation to my topic on...' right?
Anyway, I now have a way for me to not forget the topics that I have come upon. I usually type it down on my cellphone (the whole topic itself or the main topic) and when I get to come home, I copy paste it to mylot! hehehe.. I find it easier that way and it's actually saves time thinking about topics. I just copy-paste them when I find the time to come online to mylot.
Have a great mylot experience!

Perhaps your incident was so striking (perhaps he was so shocked and terrified that something might have happened to you - you are his responsibility after all because he arranged the event). hehehe..
Anyhow, thank you very much for the best response mark, truly appreciate it. Have a great Holidays!

Some people amaze me in their attention to detail and the ability to remember things from other discussions. For me, it all blends together in my head. Some folks just have a talent for it.
I had a teacher one time who surprised me that way. Our class had gone to the beach for a beach party and I had gone into the water. This was in California and I was completely inexperienced with the ocean currents there. I got caught in a rip tide and had to be pulled out by a life guard.
Well, this teacher greeted me a couple weeks later after I hadn't seen him since the party with, "Last time I saw you, you nearly drowned." I couldn't believe he had even been aware of what had happened let alone would remember me among all his students! (This was an adult class.) It really made an impression on me and I remember him to this day. I may not remember his name, but I remember him!

This man had the ability to turn any conversation into something personal that way, though. He was just amazing! A genuinely caring individual.

This reminds me of the verse in the Bible " For many are called, but few are chosen —Matthew 22:14, KJV"
. Those that are destined to be there will be there. I get so many such thoughts and I know sometimes I will give up whatever I am doing and run up here (my computer is on my first floor)lest I should forget it. I get such nice ideas may be when I am shopping, or in the midst of my morning walk. Ideas spring up any where, any place, any time. And talking of time, I have even got up from my sleep and come up here to register my idea!
.
I don't think you are alone to face this quandary!

Yeh, it's funny. For a long time I wasn't very active on mylot because I kept forgetting what I wanted to say. Now I've started taking notes while I'm out and about so maybe now I'll have more to say, eh? LOL

The worst thing is when I'll think of a topic and remember it several times...like, I'll think of it, go to mylot and forget it. Then later I'll remember it again, go to mylot and forget it again! Talk about frustration city!

Oh yeah, happened lots of times.
. It does help when you write it down, so that you could just check it out when your at home and when you want to start a new discussion in mylot. I usually get the topics that I start here in myLot from daily experience.

Yes, it is always nice to have a discussion from a personal experience. I'm not really much into impersonal topics.
