Have you ever found an unusual insect or creature in your garden?

I love every aspect of my garden, even though it is a bit small. It isn't only the flowers and trees that I enjoy but every little crawling and flying creature that visits it or inhabits it! The other day I found a huge brown caterpillar hiding in a bit of old carpet. After looking it up in my trusty old book on UK insects, I found that it is called a Goat Moth. I love moths and this one would turn out to be a beauty. A big fluffy one! Last year I was visited by a gorgeous Hummingbird Moth, that looks like a tiny hummingbird when it is using its tongue to sip nectar. What creatures visit your garden?

I found a Black Widow, in my garden last saturday, it shock me, because it has never happened before, because I live in a high place, and this creatures, usualy do not come that high above the sea level. I have talked about this with some neighbours, and they have also find bugs like this recently. I blame the gloval warming.

Oh, dear, that's not fun! Global warming seems to be encouraging more mosquitoes here in the UK. Malaria might start coming back! My poor father had that from his early 20s until his 80s. I wouldn't wish that on anyone!

The most unusual things we find in our garden are the Oregon slugs, these beauties are 4 to 5 inches long and come in beautiful pastil colors. Since we have a lot of wild wood around us we just admire them and let them go on their way. We keep them from our garden by the use of crushed egg shells,

We sometimes get huge slugs in the UK but I can't call them beauties, even though, like all creatures, they fascinate me!

Nasty ones! I don't have a garden anymore but the last one had an eight inch long, blue and yellow striped centipede of the type that are highly venomous. It took a lot a spade work to get rid of that visitor!

I'll have to look that one up!
