So the Canucks were playing the Bruins last night and Vancouver lost. Well it was hell in Vancouver yesterday. There were thousands and thousands of people out in the streets and when they learned that their hockey team, the Canucks lost, they went crazy!!
They set fire to police cars, overturned other cars, broke store windows and just plain went crazy.
Some say its always the same gang who's making trouble whenever people are gathered. I think so too but why is it that the police cant find them.
What are your views on this. Why do you think that now people cant seem to gather in one place without any trouble happening?

As always, there are two sides to the story. I hadn't heard about the restaurant. I can't imagine if they were being civil that any restaurant over here would refuse to serve them but I honestly don't know. The whole thing seems so childish and on both sides if the story about the restaurant is true.

Yes only a tiny group of animals. But the reason they booed at the American Flag is because apparently some Canucks players tried to eat at a restaurant in Boston and were sort of brushed off. They were told the restaurant had no more food.......so!!
Thanks for replying......I was shocked too!!

I wasnt there at that restaurant, so I can say for sure that its true. I heard that on the news on Canadian TV and thats what they said. Indeed it does sound very childish on both sides. They used to play sports for the fun of it but now money in involved, a LOT of money and when you mix money into anything, it can only make the sauce turn sour!!
I hope that one day in the future, sportsmanship will be back and people will play hockey or any sports for the FUN of it and not to make more money.
Thanks!!
PS: Ive been googling this and sounds like the sh*t hit the fan with that game of Boston against Vancouver. Fans on both sides seem to have been way out of control. I dont watch sports on tv at all ever since my brothers started playing hockey when very young and thats all I could hear about and it turned me off to sports lol. So what I know is what I hear on the news. About the restaurant, some say its true, some say its a rumor. Either way, I personally dont care!

It is the mob mentality. Stuff people would not dream of doing on their own. They feel anonymous in a crowd and the energy just spreads through the whole crowd causing this kind of mess.

I agree that some people go nuts when in a crowd. But it seems that theres only a small group of people, always the same, who go from place to place when they know there will be a gathering and they start the trouble. They did in Toronto when they had the G-20 summit. I dont think we'll ever go back to the "flower-power" time of the 60's or 70's when you could have a large group of people together (ie Woodstock) and not have any rioting!!
Thanks!

It does seem that there are people who just spend their time causing havoc.

Reason why I really do not care for events and big crowds as I find that they get out of control. Sad too because they ruin and damage property and simply do not care. I remember when the bulls won here, the crowds went mad causing all sort of damage too.
For the life of me I could not understand why this is necessary as the actual winners do not celebrate in such savage ways.

I have no idea why they need to break everything now in order to "celebrate". Maybe they need to let out the steam of their daily lives. It used to be safe to be in a crowd (ie Woodstock) but not anymore. Same for me, I wont go to events anymore because of this and its sad.
Thanks!

I heard about that. I mean they were several games down and you can't beat the Bruins (hottest goalie EVER). Besides, aren't we always hearing bad things about Canadians? Like weren't they overly rude during the Olympics? We can't say it's only Canadians though, when the Stealers lost the Super Bowl, there was rioting in the streets of Pittsburgh. I think sometimes fan take things a bit too far, but I can't say anything. If the Broncos lost the Super Bowl, I'd be mad as hell.
