Due to our busy schedule, we haven't gone out to shop at supermarket for 4 days already. Last time my mom check the refrigerator, there wasn't much vegetables left. Luckily, my mom has a small garden in the backyard, and she planted some veggies and melons there. Although most of them are not mature yet, but some veggies are closed to harvest time. We are taking this chance to check them out, and some are ready to be picked up. We got a whole basket, and it is ready for the lunch veggie soup. Actually, that is so much fun to have your own vegetables supply, so you don't have to depend on supermarket supplies. I would give my mom two thumbs up, she had done a good job on it. That might be another money saving activities to do at home.

That is great. Our little garden has not produced much for us yet but it is still nice to have. We are hoping to improve on it this fall and next spring. I am so glad you got something out of yours!

My mom dedicated so much time on it, so I am also glad she got something out of it. It is her hard work, and her effort. I never been like that before. I wish I have such perseverance like that.

That is great you guys had some vegetables to use and so you didn't need to go to the store right away! I like having a small veggie garden myself but don't have one yet. It sure does save, and comes in handy, not only that but the vegetables are so delicious too!
There is so much you can do with vegetables to make some great summer dishes. I hope you enjoyed that veggie stew!

I have been eating green salads from my garden these last weeks in spite of freezing temperatures during the night. I placed covers over my lettuces and arugules (not very beautiful but useful) and I can at the cleanest veggies ever, just picked from my garden.
I know how you feel with this and share your elation.
