I have been using a Toshiba Satellite laptop for some years now. It has been working very well, and I am very happy with it. I carry it along whenever I travel on my business trips in my country and also overseas. Very easy to carry. Price-wise, Toshiba is quite reasonable I would say.

It actually depends on your budget. If you are ready to pay more than $700 you should go for Asus or Sony. Asus is completely new, but its computers and laptops are becoming very popular. If you want something that costs less than $700 you should go with Toshiba Satellite. It has a bad battery, yet the advantage of having it is that it comes with dual processors. This means that you will be able to use it for hours without worrying about overheating. Toshiba Satellite seems to show crispy picture on screen. It almost feels like television.
