Hello lotters, It must hard living in a community where the storm kept hammering them. Every house in her community is totally flooded and even her school was not save from it. every one was busy salvaging furniture and others in their houses. but this girl took her time and save the Flag and brought it back to school. But it was actually her brother that told her to get the flag because he was helping her mom arranging stuff in the house because it was flooded I am proud of what she did, this proves there is still hope for the Filipinos. Have a Nice day

I saw that in the news. I only saw the pictures but I totally not understand the whole story behind it. I think I will do the same unless it will not harm my life. I will get the flag, save it and dry it and return it to school. But her bravery is inspirational since she doesn't mind the harm that can come through but what matters is the Philippine Flag and the pride. She only shows that she have respect for the our flag and very nationalistic.

Hello Grecychunny, Well, the brother asked her to get the flag because he was helping their mom. and when she took it at the midst of the rain, it became very symbolic for the rest of those who have watch the video. I, for one am proud of what she did. have a nice day.

Yeah I've seen this on the news, the beginning part. I have to get off the bus that's why I didn't catch the rest of it. The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this is "wow, that pic looks so heroic". It really does right? It looks like a picture of the Katipunan about to attack during the revolution era. The idea of anyone, especially a girl, saving a flag just gives me goosebumps. I wouldn't have done the same thing. My mindset is, it's already safe up the pole, it's us who needs to get on higher ground. Bringing the flag home would only give a chance of it being swept by the flood. Anyway, the idea and the picture is still heroic. (hehe not exactly the right pic, but it's cute and somewhat relevant.)

Hello Swirlz Yes, i think there is a good symbolism about this situation. I think she has brought it to school because they borrowed it for the use in the festival but all flood for the last few days. It is indeed heroic look for we see but i guess this girl doesn't think that but of course, things are really happening for a reason and that is to give us hope

Pretty nice act of bravery! I salute that little girl and her brother for saving the flag. Her parents and school taught them well. I agree, there's still a lot of hope for the Filipinos!

Hello Jsae29, If his brother brought it maybe he could have been seen as a hero but you know this girl i think was meant to bring this flag and shown to the public there is a sign of hope despite of the problem that we faced every single day. Have a nice day.

What an interesting news! Saving the Philippine flag than any other things is such a good act. Philippines has still hope to improve. There are some Filipinos who still hope for a better change. Let us do our part as well.

Hello Tess, This is really nationalistic to see because despite of the flood, she took her guts and wave like it with pride despite of the terrible rain. I hope that this what happen will inspire a lot of person, as for a better change we have a long way to go and it won't be easy but this kid has inspired us. have a nice day.

Janella is her name. She is an orphan. Her aunt and her brother were trying to save their tiny home. Her brother was the flag caretaker and he instructed his little sister to secure the flag. She did, through raging high waters. Complain? Nah! That is us, but not this girl who, in her frail and humbling existence, holds love of country in her heart.

Hello Eileen, that's a good observation there. but i guess we are inspired because this is something most filipinos had almost forgotten. You know I like to tell you that I was a boy scout flag bearer by mistake because I thought i was attending a march practice for computer graduates but that's when I feel nationalist carrying the flag as I march through the stage with my boy scout uniform, i took to the stage with pride

Whenever I see the Flag flying, I think of all the people who sacrificed their lives just so we could have the honor to raise it up and sing our National anthem, if we have more citizen like her then definitely our country has a good fighting chance to be great again.

Hello Louievill, Yes it reminds of the sacrifices of our people most specially the Overseas Filipino Workers. I believe there are more people like her and that's probably why despite of all the bad news that we've been having I think there is still a chance for us to prosper even though we are in a tough situation now. have a nice day.

I can sense there is nationalism within her. I salute this girl for being so. I hope the government takes care of her and educate her further so that what's good within her will be shown and propagated so that others follow the good example.

yeah, i saw the news about it. it raised and stirred my emotions seeing the flag being carried away from harm by a school-aged girl. i think that's how education is making a positive impact on our children and youth. the nationalistic fervor in us is still alive, i suppose. and it is being demonstrated when there is a great calamity which is able to unite us under difficult circumstances.

Hello mensab, I think despite of the lack of education, this girl still manages to carry the flag. but I do remember that they borrowed this flag and use it for the festivals. but i was wondering would she still do it if his brother didn't tell her to, because it was coincidence that the media found this and took a great attention

I saw it on the news too and I'm happy that it caused more awareness on loving our nation. I hope we do something more than carrying our flag. I hope we can unite to uplift our country.

Hello Princess, I always thought they didn't care anymore since they have to much to think. but am not sure if he's brother didn't order him to take the flag would you think she would have still take it? but she did and it became a symbol of hope. it gives a little bit of light despite of the darkest hour that we are experiencing right now

Well what I like about it is the shot or the photography. The Philippine unfurled or ruined by the typhoon. The girl is recognized because she demonstrates nationalism. It is something that lifts the spirit. It means no matter what calamity happens, the Filipinos would always stand up.
