When I was a child we didn't go to church too often,we were sorta like those Christmas,Easter church goers! When we did go it was in a methodist denomination church.I was christined when I was 6. When I was 14 our minister moved and I did not like our new one,so I quit going to church. My family no longer went. When I had my first two children I did not have a car most of the time.I got them christined. Then when the youngest one was about 7 and a half, the oldest one was 10 we started going to a baptist church that we really liked. My youngest son and I got baptized. But,the pastor asked me the date I accepted Christ. I asked him,the date? He said he had to put a specific date in my bible. We moved and the pastor there kept saying that he accepted Christ on a specific date. That puzzles me.I believe that it is a process that you start learning about Christ and accept Him as our savior that way. What do you think?

hi dfollin I am like you I think for me it was a gradual process and I would have been hard put to put down a specific date as I was in a process of learning and it took awhile for me to understand the whole concept so I would have had to say the months of December and January or some such.I think lots of people come to it the way you did and I did.

Also to me,it kinda' sounds unbelievable to have a date where all of the sudden, whammy,I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior! Well, yes He is but, someone just didn't tell me one day and I said ,Oh,ok!

I grew up accepting Christ. I am Presbyterian. We believe it is a process, as you said, not one thunder-bolt of a moment. I never understood the Baptist theory that it happens at one precise moment.

I find that odd. If you've been a Christian all your life, you're not going to remember a date...

Date is not important at all. What matters is that you have accepted Christ into your life already. I don't go to a baptist church but i go to a non-denominational Evangelical megachurch and our pastor don't ask when we became Christians.
