I've heard a double-agent have the document and evident for the attack on pearl harbor. but the US navy not believe japan can launch an attack to pearl harbor by airplane, because the distance is too long for an airplane in that era.
but, the US navy was wrong, japan can attack by deploy a refuel depot somewhere, that only the double-agent know by stealing it.
it's become a mystery for me, there is this double-agent is true?
any one know about this?
I've watch a film based on this story too
you can see the look like of this film on :http://www.hancinema.net/korean_movie_Haan.php
I think if this true, it can change the history if the US navy trust the double agent..
maybe because he is an double agent, make the US navy can not trust him.
who knows?????

Pearl Harbour was attacked from aircraft carriers. The Japanese Navy had four main carriers at that time all of which took part in the Pearl Harbour attack. The same four carriers later formed the main strike force in the Midway battle during which all four Japanese carriers were sunk.
There was no "refuel depot somewhere" in the Pearl Harbour attack and the mission target was only given by sealed orders once the carrier fleet was at sea, so how did this supposed double agent get hold of the information? Facts please, not movie makers fantasy.

that's why I need some argument, it seems interesting...
when the film end, there is some words, explained about the double agent, they show a pic of the double agent's grave on america, because he spend his live in america as a civilian.
may be you must watch the film before, at least it's a great film for me...

This is indeed an interesting subject and I have been doing some research of my own in the last few minutes. It appears that there was a double agent, codenamed tricycle. He was sent to America by the Germans to form an intelligence network there and when he arrived he passed on to the Americans a three page document of which about a third concerned Pearl Harbour.
However, the information was disregarded by the President who distrusted double agents. I have not been able to find a transcript of that document, (which must be in the public domain now).
I did find this account of Pearl Harbour which seems interesting as a general account of the battle. Note that my memory was faulty when I said that there were four carriers, there were six. The Imperial Navy used four at Midway. http://www.knowledgerush.com/kr/encyclopedia/Battle_of_Pearl_Harbor/

me too henki, but the main topic is about Kil-soo haan, a double-agent who know the pearl harbor attack, and have a chance to warn the US navy for it, and minimize the casualties.
