Green Tomato anything!

I am having issues with my tomatoes this year. As soon as they go red they have rot on the bottom. So I am trying to use them green. I have fried them but could use a better recipe for that. I have one for Green tomato ketchup but was wondering if any one has made something like and if so did yo like it. I do not want to cook up a few quarts of it to find no one will eat it. Any suggestions? What a bout salsa can that be made with it?

Hello there. I had only tried cooking one dish with green tomatoes and that is with the squid. Where does your green tomatoes come? Did you plant?

I planted them. I wish I could use squid but my husband is deathly allergic to all fish

Green tomato kethup is really good. I have been making it for years. Adds alot to peas, beans or whatever. Try it u will like it, lol.

Well I guess I Will! I found the recipe in an old cookbook I found at a garage sale and it has always caught my attention.

Well I know if you watch the Movie Friend Green Tomatoes, they fry them in oil and flour and such probably like you do Zuchinni and they are supposed to be pretty good. Back when I was growing up in IL I remember having some relish made out of these and it was good. You could try making up a small batch and see what people think. Other than this, I am not sure what to do... Are there others around you where you live who could help eat them or come up with some ideas as well?
