There's a spewing soda-can in the middle of the road!

I was driving to my night class, and I saw something spinning across the street in front of me. It's a SODA CAN... and not just a soda can... but an ERUPTING soda can! There's a hole in one of the sides and that's making it whip around in circles, right across the road. I couldn't stop, and I wasn't going to for a measly soda can, and the road was too narrow to avoid it... so I drove over it. Not "over" over it, cause I didn't run it over, it just passed under the car. But the soda was shooting up so far that it sprayed across my windshield. Now my windshield has sticky and sugary spots all over it.
Who would leave a FULL soda can lying in the middle of the road? How did it get there? Any theories? What would you do if you saw an erupting soda in the middle of the road?

It may have been a kid prank, were you near where kids might hang out? It sounds funny though, and I think I would have done the same thing you did, just run right over it, but now that you mentioned it got on your windshield, if I had time, I would have stopped and waited until it slowed down, which shouldn't take that long..

It was about a block from my old elementary school. I don't like to assume the worst of kids though. Didn't see any kids hanging around.
And I probably should have slowed down and picked it up too. It wouldn't have taken long for it to empty out.

Oh I wasn't assuming there are bad kids, in fact if that is all they did, then those kids would be perfect..lol But as summer is ending, kids and getting more active, at least I saw that with my own son and maybe an end of the year prank is what they needed to do..Of course, it could also been accidentally dropped too, but whatever the reason, it made for a good discussion..

Yeah, I agree... if the soda can was all they did then they'd be perfect kids. lol I doubt they would have thrown a soda in the road over drinking it. I'm thinking it was probably an accident, but I guess I'll never know.
It did make for a good discussion. Now I've got to clean off my windshield.

lol, you'd sacrifice your clean car to save everyone else from its carbonated surgery goodness? How selfless!

That's pretty funny and my best guess would be that the can tipped upward while it was moving so fast and some pop was actually able to make it out of the can and spray you're car as you were driving toward it. And if it was me I would have probably freaked out a little while I laughed about it but I definatly would of scared me at first.

I think it was the rim or close to the side that was punctured. It was rolling around and spewing like a geyser before I even got to it. I think it might have fallen off a car or got throw out as a full can, and got hit so that it bust open. Naturally it was all shook up, and in the heat... contents under pressure. lol
Stowyk, it was pretty funny once I got over being mad there was sticky stuff on my window.
