Daughter (Parent Teacher Conferences)

My daughter just started her first year of middle school and so far she likes it she even likes having home work. I just got notice that paent teacher conferences are coming up in September that is so fast compared to where we use to live. But I guess in the South they do things different. I know they get more breaks and get out for the summer earlier. She will be getting out for the summer May 23rd.

Hello Tina and welcome to myLot. When My grandkids were in school I always thought It was better to have the first Parent teacher conference early like they do there. (I raised two of my grandchildren) that way if there was a problem you can get a handle on it early. For a time we had the kids in school in Kansas and they had to ride the bus. It wasn't until school had been in secession for several weeks that we found out that she was miss behaving on the bus. If we had known when it was first happening we could have put a stop to it. And she had a hard time focusing on her work. She was a social butterfly.

I actually like it better this way. And you are so right if there is something wrong early on you can take care of it right away.With my daughter and her ADHD I am glad this is happening early with her having new teachers and everything that way I can see how things are going. So far she is doing really good. She likes her new school and teachers.

Thanks as far as adjustment goes she is doing pretty good. I there will be problems soon because she is ADHD and getting ready to run out of medicine and no insurance yet. I am really worried about it. We are going to let the school know so they can keep an eye on her.
