My teacher before in Speech told us that when we listen attentively, we'll be able to be a good speaker as well. I've tried listening to other people but I couldn't really be a good speaker because I stammered whenever I talk. What do you think I should do?

This is not often true. There are people who speaks a lot but doesn't really know how to listen.
They just wanna be heard and that's it. If somebody else is speaking, they just shut down their ears and start proving that they're right even though they're wrong all along.

hI bASHFUL,
Be it school class room or college or university or conference or discussion or just a discourse between you and me, when you speak seriously this goes without mentioning that I listen to your words. If your attention gets distracted this would not be possible for me to put forth my opinion on what you were telling all the long.
This is a general tendency that people, instead of listening to others love to make you hear first. Alright I would listen to your story provided you speak coherently and in a single stream or else I might lose mt Patience.
If he/she is a good speaker, this is assumed that you are a good listener too. And remember, people would be attracted to you.
The bottom line is that to leave good impression on others you are maintaining both listen and talk. Thus to maintain equilibrium.

My friend,
Many people have a lot of problem in speaking & your teacher is right. You have to be a good listener. But it thkes a lot of effords & will power to improve your speaking skills. Its very easy. My friend I also had the same problen my English teacher always helped me. I could'nt pronounce words well I had a tough time. To improve my speech I read the newspaper loudly for 10 minuts daily it helped my speech & also I felt the results in a week. Try it out I surely know you will benefit & give results in a week... Best of Luck :)

What is a good speaker? The one who uses many words and never stops talking? Or the one who only speaks if he has something worthfull to share?
All you need is selfconfidence.
To know that what you say is worth telling. If you believe in what you say others will too and the stammering will be gone before you know it.
And people who are good, attentive listeners are surely not aalways able to be a good/great speakers as well!
How to speak, how to catch your listeners is an art you can learn if you really want to.
