Okay, so I finally got a diagnosis on this rash on my wrist and it is psoriasis. Oh, joy! Oh, rapture! Another condition to add to my list.
According to the doctor, there is no cure, only management. Just what I did not want to hear. So we are on the cream again and she also suggested I try some sunlight. Apparently the sun is good for us as well as bad for us (skin cancer). So now I get to manage one more ailment. Ain't getting old grand? NOT!

I have psoriasis in a mild form (according to pictures online) since I was 19 years old. IT flared up when my first baby was 3 months old and I was very much worried about it being contagious. It isn´t, it flares up with stress and lowers with sun (I like Aruba´s sun
). Don´t fret. It´s of a genetic cause and will not bother much. There are lots of ointments and creams to help. Discover which is the best for you.
I was dignosed some months ago of another ailment that in my case had no cure. If I´m very lucky, it can be managed a bit. It´s a lymphoma (a type of cancer). Now I´m on chemo, instead of taking sunbaths
.
Cheer up and be happy. Life is worth every second you live it, no matter with waht ailment.

I read in one of your comments that you are starting a vegetable garden. I have a small one too and gardening is one of the things that take stress out of your life. Besides, there´s nothing as yummy as homegrown vegetables as you pick them when they are not over ripe.

Yes, well, my gardening is limited by my mobility issues but I do have a few plants growing out there...some rhubarb, strawberries, gooseberries, mint and saffron. Next year I plan to plant some tomatoes and bell peppers. I've never tried growing tomatoes before so this will be an adventure for me.

I have a friend who has that too. looks icky and it apparently hurts - hers is on her legs most of the time, but she can get it on her arms too when its flares up...
I have heard sunlight light can help it... just as you are going into the darker days of winter...

LOL...yeh, I know what you mean. Still, at least I know what it is now and that at least is something. I had this thing for over a year before they did any kind of diagnostic tests on it. Once I knew what it was, it was easier to accept and deal with it. That's something, at least, eh?

I hear you loud and clear there. I was 36 when I developed the fibro and the first time I talked to my doc about it, he said, "Well, you know, as we get older, we get little aches and pains." I was shocked! I thought, I'm 36 for heaven's sake! And then these were not LITTLE aches and pains, it was debilitating! I had to hound him before he finally gave me the fibro diagnosis...and even then he talked like it wasn't really a disease or condition, like it was all in my head. Grrrr...doncha just love the medical industry?

hello, I found something that could be a useful source of information. It involves changing our diet, you know eliminate some and add a few sort of stuff similar to what you do with cinnamon to control your sugar, just pick up things that might be useful or helpful, good luck friend and stay well

I doubt that I could ever go vegan or change my diet that drastically. I am pretty much stuck for a lot of the foods that I eat as I pretty much eat food bank fare. I am growing more and more in my garden, though, and hope to eventually be able to work more vegetation into my diet. Thanks for the link. It is definitely food for thought.

Hey alasray I sad to hear your condition . You should not lose hope . There are so many things we need to adjust in life but we must accept the challenge boldly . My sister who had a kidney transplant gets problems now and then accepts things so sportingly . I will pray for you . You can try homoepathic treatment . I heard it helps . God bless you friend :-)

At least now I know what it is. That is always better than not knowing. Unfortunately, homeopathic medicine is not covered by my insurance so it's not an option. But thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Try the sun with your psoriasis, personally it doesn't really work with me :-( perhaps only if I would live in a country with lots of sun every day?
I use sulpher soap I would advice it to you too. The illness will never be gone but it is possible that it will not show up for some or longer time.
What you could try to do is start a long (high dosis) with probiotics, I am doing that now, who knows many of my diseases will disappear sooner or later thanks to that.
Ps I am not afraid of skin cancer because of the sun, everything I now have is already bad enough

Thank you for the suggestions. Sounds good. I hear you on the cancer thing...I figure at 54 I'm over halfway through this life, anyway, so I'm not worried about the sun. The only trouble is that I live in an area where the sun is very hot in the summer and I really don't do heat very well...and the winters are very cold so I don't really get outside much year round! lol...I'll figure it out, I'm sure, though. We'll lick this thing yet!
