They agree that raising taxes on the middle class is not going to cure this economy.
But,they are talking about putting toll booths along Route 95,which is a major interstate highway that runs up and down the eastern side of the United States.
So,if a middle or low class person lands a job or already has a job and they have to take Route 95 to work and they can't afford the toll then they will lose that job.
I don't think it's a very good idea.
What do you think?

Is there no other road that the person could take to get where they are going? I am not overly fond of toll roads, but I understand their purpose. The primary purpose of putting tolls on roads is to ensure that those individuals who use the road are the ones paying for it rather than everyone else. It might be more difficult for low and middle income people to pay for the tolls, but would you want to pay more taxes to pay for the repairs that need to be done?

I am not fond of toll roads either. Some places there are not any alternative routes.Other places have back roads that do not have a lot of lanes and if a lot of people take the alternative routes also then the roads will be very over crowded and will take that person two or three times to get to work.:(

yea, they're talking about raising tolls and adding 2 new booths here.
it's absolute BS.not only does that screw workers,it's gonna kill tourism in some areas that a lot of 95 hugging cities rely on.
but you can't tell them anything.once they decide they're gonna do it,they've already got plans in motion before they tell us.

I think it will be like other toll roads around here. People just find other ways to get around it. It is getting to the point that you cannot go anywhere without paying for something.

It is not easy is it? If we all paid a fixed amount or percent of taxes, rich to poor, it would be a better idea, but that does not seem to be something that will happen. People need jobs close to where they live, and they need to be decent paying jobs.

I do not think it is a very good idea. Middle class to lower class all this garbage is crazy to me. I don't like what is being done to this world it is just making things worse in this economy.
