I have heard that Microsoft Word can be really helpful for many tasks for documents. Can you tell me if you like this program or would you recommend something else more helpful. glowin100

I have been using Microsoft Word all along. I have it on my desktops, at my office and at home, and on my laptop. I have been using it for preparing all my project documents and presentations. I do not intend to change to any other software at this time.

I have word 2007 and it is great for writing articles. I would be lost if not for spell and grammar check they are a godsend. I also use other tools on the internet which I find to be helpful. There are other word processors available for free download but I like my Microsoft word.

I have never fallen in love with Microsoft Word. Nevertheless since it widely used I use it whenever there is a need to do so. For writing documents there are other alternatives to Word. There are several office suites other than Open Office. I have used AbiWord, a free software.

Word is the most common word processor on the business world and as such it is a good idea to become proficient in its use. It is very powerful but most people only use a small percentage of its potential. I have Office 97 through to Office 2011 and there is very little reason to upgrade from 97 in my opinion as it does all I want. However, as I have to teach other people Office I have to have the latest edition. However, more offices are getting fed up with the cost of Microsoft and so are going for Open Office which does the same but is free. If you use Open Office word processor and you wish to share the file with other MS Office users then you must remember to save your files in .doc or .rtf format.
