clicking at a mylotter’s profile

Whenever I find a mylotter’s discussion so nicely done, I would always click the profile to find out at least something about the person. But then sometimes, what I would just get are the age, location and gender or sometimes just the location or none at all. Hence, I would scroll at his started discussions. If there are none yet, I would look at his responded discussions or his interests. That way, I get to know a bit about the Mylotter.

That is an excellent way to get an idea of how the person participates and or to see what their interest are like. I often check the profiles now as I am getting so many friend requests from members I had not seen before and or interacted with, so I do check the activity to see why and or if we have similar interests. I have never said no to a friend request but I hardly can keep up with the many I do have listed. This way if our interests differ and or I can't respond to their discussions they will not feel ignored.

I always do that too, whenever someone send me a friend request. I even have a separate list for my fellow Filipinos, so when i answer i could really relate to them. But then, i choose the discussions i respond to. They have to be of my interests.

Oh yes SIMPLYD if they are of our interests then we find we can respond with great detail. It especially allows us to continue to further discussions. Thank you kindly SIMPLYD for the BR!

Hello Simplyd, I have the habit of checking MYLOTTER's profile.Whenever i see a good response or a discussion i always check the profile of that mylotter. Like you i also follow the response he/she had given and the discussions started and read those and if i find them good i send friend request to that fellow and thats the way i make friends here. And i feel this is the best way to know about a particular MYLOTTER.

I also have that habit also , sjvg, to check the profile of the mylotter whose answer i have found to be very good. It makes me think highly of him/ her. I would also further look for some details i may find about him/her in his/her started discussions.

It's really disappointing that they don't have much information on their profiles. We just have to respect that and be contented with their avatar and with the littlest information they have. Me, having their location already makes me happy knowing from where they are.

I do the same thing. It's sad some people don't add much to their profiles to see.

Thats a good idea. I also encountered no much information on members. I don't think people like to give much information. But as long as they participate, that fine for me. I don't even have pictures of me except my profile picture.

At least inertia, you have a picture of yourself. That, more or less, assures the person responding , as to who he is responding to.

We just have to respect them for their wanted privacy. At least we can learn something about them through their responded discussions as well as started ones. Me, sometimes i also feel like getting mysterious for others, specially for newbies so i would use avatar, when that strikes me.

I know, but I could understand why people do not want a picture of themselves. Maybe they feel uncomfortable or insecure about themselves. Either way, I think we learn all we need to know from their posts and responses.

Hi I always check profiles and get disappointed when the info is limited because I do use this site to find out about people internationally. I tend to find that there the same differences as you would find between people in your home countries. The differences are only minor in the countries that this site covers. Remember when I say that I've only been here about 3 weeks.

Well, you can always check on their discussion or their responded discussions. More or less you can gauge who, what & where they are through their discussions.

i do that too. i look on their profiles before i would add them as friends and it would delight me to see if the person is a Filipino. but of course i do not choose who to be friends with it's just that i feel happy if a mylotter is a Filipino maybe it's because they are chances that i can relate to their topics.

It's a happy feeling indeed when we are able to see some details about someone who requests us as a friend. Much more if he/she is a Filipino. I have my list of all my Filipino friends. That way, whenever i answer i would know from my list if she's a Filipino or not. If he/she is, i would usually add a Tagalog word to it. O di ba?

I made a table at word. I put in them, the usernames and some details about them that i got from their profiles. Everytime a Filipino requested me to be his/her friend i would go to their profile and try to know something about them. If i have seen that she's /he's a Filipino i put him/her on my list.

hi simplyd try what I do when I am hard pressed to think of a new topic.use yourself and your life as then we all get to learn a bit more about one other.I have learned from some discussions that Filipinos are very giving and compassionate, and that Indians are very warm hearted and family oriented things I would not have known unless people let us into their lives a bit. I am a lover of mylot and I find being part of a global community just wonderful. You will find in your heart some topics for mylot mark my word lol

When we read a mylotter's responded discussion or even her/his discussions, we get to learn something about the person, even if he didn't state in his profile his/her gender , location and even age. They speak of her/his persona. But that is, if she/he is not masquerading as such. How i wish i could still make many discussions. I think i am getting to my saturation point.

Actually Hatley , my topics are revelations of me , my family and everyday life. I feel happy to share them. Thanks for saying that about us Filipinos. You see, Mylot is a great place to know a lot about people from different places of the world.

I love checking profiles. I will often look for discussions my favorite friends have participated in if I don't have much in my notifications of interest. I don't want to start anymore discussions until I see if I have to go in for jury duty, because if I do, I will have less time until I finish it.

So you too love checking profiles ha. We feel happy to at least know something about someone who responses so nicely on our discussions or starts a new discussion.
