How do they make crunchy yet fudgy brownies?

I like to make brownies and the recipe that I use gives me a fudgy brownie but it doesn't have the crunchy(not crackling) exterior. I remember buying a brownie in a pastry shop and they have those super yummy brownies crunchy in the outside and gooey in the middle. I wonder how they make it... do you know how?

Sorry I'm not sure how they make brownies like that. They sound really good though. My favorite brownies are Betty Crocker dark chocolate brownies. I'm not a huge fan of dark chocolate but these don't taste too dark. They bake the perfect way I like them, nice and chewy. I like chewy ones over cake like brownies.

Yeah the cake like brownies doesnt feel right hahaha... Ill try your suggestion anyways since cocoa powder and chocolate here is getting expensive.
