October 31st, it is Halloween, and you might seen those Pumpkin patches are everywhere. Some of my co - workers even carve the pumpkin and already decorate the workplace. Candies are available to pick up at work, and we even have costume contest at our work place too, and the winner will have 2 vouchers for a fancy dinner. I am not fond of Halloween, because I just don't want to spend too much time to decorate for only one day, and we have buy all these costumes, and decor. Also, we have to prepare some candies at least, in case of a bunch of kids knock on the door. I remember one year, didn't get the candies, when the kids knock on the door, I have to turn off the light and pretend no one is home. What a hassle, and inconvenient for me.

I don't do Halloween due to religious beliefs, but I can understand not doing it for other reasons, too. It's almost impossible to opt out of it no matter where you are and feeling obligated to buy candy can be a hardship on some people - I don't mean you, but some people just don't have the money for all that candy.

I can understand why you may not like it, but I think you should look at it more positively! Instead of looking to it as a day where decorations go to waste, look to it as a day where you can spend 24 hours in a highly decorated room catering to a holiday that you can get into the spirit of! Instead of looking at the trick or treaters as a hassle, just buy some candy and look to it as making a child's night! You just have to stay positive, and everything will seem a lot brighter...Even on Halloween!
